”CountPugula” I’m horrified, yet intrigued, please tell me more.
Have you heard the whole story how Dankula became famous?
For those who havnt; Dankula was a pretty tiny little account on YouTube, only a handful of followers, from Scotland. One day he posted a video. THE video. "My girlfriend thinks her pug dog is the cutest thing ever so I'm going to turn it into the worst thing I can think of," (bolded the part that's most important). "I'm gonna turn her dog into a Nazi."
He then proceeded to teach the little dog to put up its paw when he said "Zeig Hiel" (I'm sure I spelled that wrong but idgaf) and to come to attention (turn his head and pay attention to you, like learning its name) when he said "gas the Jews."
Remember. This is a bad thing. The joke only works if you think Nazis are bad. And even if you dont think it's funny, it's still just a joke.
Despite Dankula's small sub count, the video goes super viral. Days later, the doorbell rings at Dankula's house.
It's the guys from Scotland Yard. They have a warent for his arrest.
Apparently, an officer found the video on his own and took it to his superiors. They in turn, took it to a couple Jewish rabbi and asked them if they were offended. Apparently one was and that was enough to charge Dankula with "Causing Gross Offence".
Fast forward TWO YEARS (yes, they drag his ass through hell for two God damn years) and a judge decides that context does not matter and found Dankula guilty.
They fined him 800 pounds.
He tried to appeal but the state just took the money from his bank account and closed the case. No more appeals were accepted.
Did the man learn his lesson? Hell no. He does stand up comedy about it now. But it's been about 2 years and, though he still had "offensive" jokes in his standup routine, he hasn't been harassed by the police again. He still gets shit from idiots, though.
So, I'm sure you can guess by now what "Count Pugula" is referring to. I havnt sketched him out yet but I'll be sure to post it in due time.
