countdown to countdown is literally the best thing i've found so far this year

i just binge read all the way to the part where iris accidentally goes into the book with the other two and find the old interviews with his mother?? around that. i loveee everything about it :3 the artstyle is so nice to see and i love how everything is panelled!! the story is so kewl too, i love the concepts and how iris and lillium's relationship together isn't so rushed.

in a way it sort of reminds me of steven universe? except iris didn't really have a father there to help care for him. its like how no matter where steven went, someone from homeworld would only see him as rose quartz or pink diamond-- only seeing him as someone from the past.

im calling it now I think when you drink the steeped flower of a dead/comatose/flowerified demiflora (ahem irid) you get the ability to speak to that demiflor again through your memories of that person (which is what Madame's doing on this update p691-2)

(also of note is when we see ven drinking an iris flower too-- communicating with irid? or another member of the iris council?)

This whole different universes and timelines concept are genuinely tripping me up. How is someone from a alternative universe supposed to be me when they don't have my thoughts/reactions. The way I keep sane is just thinking of it as different versions of myself while also thinking that, that isn't me.

"the line is covered in jellyfish" by staroverlord "Countdown to countdown" by velinxi and Peacemaker is what has brought this up.

To clarity, I've only skimmed through chapter ten of the fic when I was deciding if I wanted to read the story. For CTC, I've only seen the, "the doppelganger", post they made. That's just to say I don't know what's going on in those stories, but I do think both creators are great writers. Side note, I very much enjoy the formatting on velinxi's website. I'm mostly mentioning these two so I don't lose their accounts when I want to go back. Check them out.

Anyways, like in the one comic and more so Peacemaker because I actually did watch the show. There are bad/evil versions in a different universe that I wouldn't personally want to put a claim on. Vice versa it would be hypocritical to claim on the cooler versions. Those versions didn't think/do exactly what I have. Just like Peacemakers Harcourt is not the same person in the alternative version. Og Harcourt wouldn't connect with alt Peacemaker because it isn't Peacemaker, the one she knows. As well, that alt Harcourt is not the women he loves, it's the og one. Personally not a fan of character A getting with alt character B, because A couldn't/didn't express interest in og B. I'm a sucker for the first time being with the intended pairing.

This is also just a personal 'thing' I have with wanting to treat different timeline versions as twins instead of just the same person. This could serve as a reminder that I shouldn't barge into the middle of stories and then stay up thinking about it.

Hey, I do my Demiflora from the comic Countdown to countdown for @velocesmells, she´s a very good artist.

This boy is based off the pansy flower, him has the power to manipulate both the will and the memories of a person, but only can do it when he cuts himself, be it the skin as the hair and, depending on how much cut, the manipulation will be more powerful.
