Sista Amal has worked with migrant & refuge communities including communities displaced by the Grenfell fire & was involved in the successful Goldsmiths anti-racist occupation. She responded to the refugee crisis by working with migrant communities & interviewing & documenting Eritrean relatives’ stories to counter negative mainstream narratives. She also worked with her local mosque to challenge Islamophobia through activism and highlighting the power of self-care to counter the rise in hate crime after Brexit.
