an idea that i've been wanting to do for a while: derpy delivering The Bracelet to rumi after namsan tower. jinu gave it to them for safe keeping "just in case" because he knew that derp would deliver it and derp wouldn't tell anyone. just a nice hurt / comfort type of deal because derp and sus are hurting, too. they lost their best friend and the person that they were sent to guard. i am not limiting this to just one rumi, btw. all the rumis who want to jump on this absolutely can.

derpy has two braincells: one is to provide comfort and solace to j.inu and essentially be his emotional support cat. the other was stolen by the magpie because it was shiny.

in between the time that jinu left for the palace and the time that the first hunters appeared, something happened in the lives of jinu's mother and sister. an old man, injured and freezing cold, appeared at their door one night in the midst of a terrible thunderstorm. he asked for shelter and food and jinu's mother invited him in without hesitation. she didn't have much, but she shared what little she had with him and tended to his injuries. the biggest thing that she was able to offer him was the fire and a roof for the night.

the next morning, he revealed that he was one of the mountain gods. he offered her a reward for her kindness and for sharing the very little that she had. she asked for protection for her son, who was in the emperor's palace. the god was so impressed with her putting someone else, especially family, in front of her own well being that he granted her this boon. he would send two spirits to protect, guide, and comfort jinu for as long as he needed it. he also granted her another boon: good fortune for herself and her daughter.

derpy and sussie followed jinu until g.wi-ma pulled him into the underworld. once jinu became a demon, he was able to see and communicate with derpy and sussie. they have remained constant companions and comfort for jinu ever since.

the place is devoid of life, a peaceful silence settling over the dwelling. the tiger has taken the opportunity to stretch out on the couch, large blue furred form taking up most of it. it's even dragged a fluffy blanket over its body, one that looked almost small in comparison. a low sound almost purring-like sound rumbles from his large chest, back rising and falling peacefully. it doesn't even react at the sound of the door opening and or at the footsteps drawing closer.

not what he'd been expecting, but he's not going to fight it. he lets out an almost purring sound, tail swishing for a moment before wrapping around the demon. he rests his head on his paws, eyes closing as he lets out a soft happy contented sound.

excitement floods the spirit as he slowly rises up from the street, tail swaying behind him. he loves coming to the human world and the fact that he now gets to enjoy it with his friend makes him beyond happy. his grin, a seemingly permanent fixture, seems to only widen as he makes his way over to his friend's side. he looks up at him, glowing eyes studying him for a long moment. noting that jinu's gaze seems to be fixated on something, he also senses something else. a feeling on the air that was both familiar and unfamiliar.

the tiger gently bumps his large head against jinu's hand, a gesture that was extremely familiar after all of this time. a sound erupts from his chest, a sound that was almost reminiscent of something rubbing against rusted metal. it was the closest thing to a purr that the tiger could manage. it was a gentle reminder that, no matter what his friend was feeling, he was not alone.

it's been a few weeks since the new honmoon was created and gwi-ma was sent back to the underworld. a few very interesting weeks, in the tiger's opinion. he had very little interest or desire to return to the underworld, a place that had never truly been his home to begin with. he'd simply spent time there because he'd cared for jinu. but since jinu was currently in a place where he was unable to be reached, the tiger found himself spending more time in the human world. specifically, spending his time lounging around huntr/x's dorm. 

like today where the smell of delicious food brought him out of his nap. his paws barely make any sound as he pads over to where one of the girls sat at a table, the surface of which were covered in various things that smelled amazing. he sits there for a moment before leaning back on his haunches, two giant paws coming to rest on the surface of the table. it shakes slightly, but nothing is tipped over. his glowing eyes fixate on zoey seemingly to silently ask, 'may i have some?'
