course kits for york university: sosc 1341 intorduction to social economy - stephan dobson ($150) huma 1780 stories in diverse media - sharon davidson ($50) dropped the courses. the kits are in perfect condition.
Selling some course kits. Please share.
So one of my courses requires a course kit and I was wondering if it would matter if I bought the course kit from a previous student of the same professor. I haven't dealt with course kits before and I'm not sure if there would be differences between this year's and last year's. I figured as long as it's by the same teacher it should be okay, or am I wrong? Thanks in advance!
Nah, it should be fine as long as you’ve compared the two course kits and see that they’re similar. I’ve bought old course kits before too and never had an issue.

It may or may not. I’d advise taking a look at the current course kit, and then compare it to the one you’re going to buy. If it looks the same then you can go ahead and purchase it.

hey,so my question is about buying course kits.more specifically chemistry. Is it a wise decision to purchase them from students that are selling,or should i purchase them from the chemistry club? also,what is a good price to buy from students? because i dont want them to overcharge me..
There isn’t any course kit for CHEM 1000/1001 (I’m assuming you’re talking about that), you get a lab manual and past papers from the Chemistry department which is already paid for in your tuition.
In general though, yes you can buy a used course kit and depending on what condition it’s in I would only pay 50%-60% (some people sell it even cheaper than that). I always look at the price in the bookstore and then make the estimate I’m comfortable paying.

These are what Course Kits are, and you only need them if it’s listed on your course list or your prof requires you to use one for the class.
