Signals from Coursera Connect Mumbai
Coursera Connect in Mumbai on 16th September 2025 was special. Being in a room with leaders from business, academia, and government reminded me how much energy there is around shaping the future of work and learning in India. What struck me most was how AI is changing the conversation. It’s not just about disruption. It’s about opening doors to new ways of learning and working, and helping us move closer to Viksit Bharat. I had the chance to join Ashutosh Gupta (Managing Director, Coursera) and Benjamin Littlemore (Head of Solution Architecture, Coursera) on stage to introduce some new AI features we’ve been working on: 🔹 Skill Tracks – learning paths tied to jobs roles, backed by highly applied assessments 🔹 Role Play – AI simulations to practice real-world skills 🔹 Course Builder – tools to help create quality courses faster 🔹 Academic Integrity – proctoring and browser lockdown for consistent standards For me, the highlight wasn’t just showing new features, it was seeing the excitement in the room and knowing these tools can really make a difference for learners, partners, and employers.
