she had had enough of everything. celeste was irritated and fed up with the dusk court, with her court, with everyone around her and with herself most of all. she had been shoving down her true feelings for way too damn long. it was a miracle truly that she had even lasted this long, keeping up this cool and collected demeanor, when all she wanted to do is scream and fight everyone, but all she felt was trapped and watched here. she wanted to claw a person's eyes out for acting even a tiniest bit annoying, so she knew she had to take an evening off, just for herself. it was hard to convince herself not to try to fly away from the dusk court since it was useless to try the impossible, so she opted for hunting. it was something her father had suggested her to learn to suppress her hunger for violence.
she walked a small hill with her bow on her shoulder and a few arrows in a satcher at her hip, her mind fuming while the darkness settled over the wooden area. she stomped carelessly and angrily, expecting no animals roaming so close to the city, when she heard someone speaking senselessly. celeste was pulled in by the voice, keeping her hand on the bow and an arrow, and as she moved closer to the sound of words that made little sense to her, she took in the speaker, laying in a soft bed of moss in the woods. it was a girl that she had never seen before, her hair sprawled across the green ground and eyes the colour of coal wide open. she looked like a creature just crawled out of earth. " what are you doing ? " celeste spoke loudly to talk over the other's words still spilling from her mouth and trying to catch the girl's eyes, but she hesitated to touch her. with a single blink celeste was brought back to a small cabin by the woods in dawn court, an older woman laying in a linen sheet bed in that same position, her nails dug into celeste's arm as her black eyes dug into hers. no child of mine, a spawn of a demon, was what she had said, as she had always said. celeste's consciousness was brought back to the present by a loud crack, that made her step away from the girl and spin on her heel, her bow already aimed at the intruder.
