I was sitting with one of my youngest cousins the other day watching his YouTubers with him, and it always makes me anxious seeing what kids might be watching online these days, but after a few videos he suddenly turned to me and asked, "Do you know Technoblade? I really like him, you should watch his stuff" and it put the biggest smile on my face :')

Sorry bud''#This is also the little cousin who immediately clocked me as a video editor pft #I was very vague about the stuff I do for RA #but I did answer a few of his questions #when he found out Bad followed RA he was like ''Why doesn't he hire you if you're a video editor?'' and I'm like oh you sweet summer child #I also told him I almost worked for [Redacted] which was fun #I originally started watching Youtubers and streamers to make sure my little cousins weren't getting into bad stuff #and then I wound up watching a lot of them for fun for my own sake after a friend showed me some cool animations #I watch basically no streams or streamers these days but I've gained enough knowledge about YouTube / streaming—#and various video games (like Minecraft) that I can have detailed conversations with my little cousins about it #It's nice. I like encouraging their interests #This little cousin is old enough now that at one point when watching a video he was like ''We can watch something else if you want''#and I was like ''I like watching the stuff you like to watch because it makes me happy seeing you happy''

Played "Slay the Princess" a bit with my little cousins today (after clearing it with their Mama ofc) and was confident I could steer them away from anything too graphic (older one of the pair loves horror movie and isn't phased by much, but I still like to be cautions) but then they somehow managed to trigger the very graphic ending and I was like FRICK

Saw some of my little cousins the other day (finally) and the youngest made me do “trust falls” asking me to catch them, and then after catching both of them they rounded on me with their little hands on their hips and said “Ok now YOU fall!” and I had to gently explain that while I DID trust that they’d try to catch me, I WOULD crush them regardless of their best intentions

Thinking about how when she was little, the eldest of my little cousins used to ask me when I’d have kids / get married when (yikes) and how during her last visit she said “I’m so glad you’re not married or dating” and when I asked why she said “Because it means you have time for us.”

My little cousin just beat Undertale's neutral-route for the first time. He called me b/c he didn't know what to do next, so I was running through everything with him, completely stumped as to why he couldn't access the next part, then I realized he skipped the Papyrus date lmaoo

Whats up everyone my little cousin hatched a shiny Froakie on his twELFTH FRICKIN EGG

For background: I introduced the concept of shiny hunting to him a while ago, and he tried it for an hour or two on his X game. He's visiting us this week and wanted to try again (note: his parents make him leave the 2DS with us so he won't play it at home 24/7, so he only plays it when he visits). I told him it's much easier to hatch eggs in Sun and Moon, but he said he didn't have a Froakie or Ditto in his Moon game, so I whipped out my game and like the excellent cousin I am, I got him a nearly perfect stats Froakie (with the ability Protean) and a Japanese Ditto so he could Masuda method that sucker (I also gave him an Everstone to get the right nature and a star piece because I didn't have a destiny knot to spare). We sat down, started reading some AwkwardZombie Pokemon comics, and in less than fifteen frickin minutes this guy pops out of an egg and we both shrieked at the top of our lungs.
