The wry remark slips past his lips with a hidden smirk. In the midst of a library populated by kine and mortal alike he has sought out the only creature who lives an unlife like himself with an advantageous auspex. In an archive full of drab sepias and greens, book spines coloured in aged beige, the two stick out like sore, bruised thumbs -- black beside black, the fluorescent lights above highlighting the contours of their figures. Whether or not his efforts to solidify the kinship with the woman based on matching appearance alone were successful remained to be seen.
