#DOH reports 623 new cases today January 5 bringing the total nationwide caseload to 4,138,564 cases. ⬆️

NCR accounted for 27% (166) of the country's cases while 457 (73%) of the day's cases are in the provinces.

In the NCR, six LGUs had double-digit cases: Quezon City 43, Makati 21, Caloocan 19, Pasig and Parañaque with 15 each and Manila 13. Eleven LGUs had low single digits cases.

Outside the NCR, thirteen provinces had double-digit cases: Iloilo 51 (Iloilo City 15), Cebu 31 (Cebu City 13), Laguna 25, Cavite and Rizal with 24 each, Albay and Misamis Oriental with 21 each, Bulacan, Isabela and Davao del Sur with 17 each, Camarines Sur 11 (Naga City 4), Benguet and Cagayan with 10 each. All other provinces had low single digit cases or ZERO COVID.

8 deaths due to COVID-19 reported today. The total number of coronavirus fatalities increased to 66,856. ⬆️

The active cases increased to 5,822 from the 5,491 yesterday's active cases. The active cases of more than 5,000 mark were breached in July 2023.

The national positivity rate is at 19.7%. ⬆️

The healthcare utilization rate remains at low risk.

NCR accounted for 24% (111) of the country's cases while 435 (76%) of the day's cases are in the provinces.

In the NCR, three LGUs had double-digit cases: Quezon City 38, Manila 14 and Caloocan 11. Thirteen LGUs had low single digits cases while one LGU had ZERO COVID: Pateros.

Outside the NCR, twelve provinces had double-digit cases: Iloilo 35 (Iloilo City 11), Batangas 34, Laguna and Rizal with 22 each, Nueva Ecija 19, Bulacan 16, Camarines Sur 16 (Naga City 2), Pampanga 14 (Angeles City 2) Cagayan 14, South Cotobato 14, Aklan and Cebu with 13 each. All other provinces had low single digit cases or ZERO COVID.

#DOH recorded 3,147 (ave. daily 449) new #Covid19 infections in the #Philippines from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1, down by 10% vs the previous week.

Only 1.28 % of the new cases were serious or critically ill, 13 new deaths and 5,310 active cases.

NCR accounted for 34% (76) of the country's cases while 149 (66%) of the day's cases are in the provinces.

In the NCR, two LGUs had double-digit cases: Quezon City 18 and Caloocan 13. Twelve LGUs had low single digits cases while three LGUs had ZERO COVID: Muntinlupa, San Juan and Pateros.

Outside the NCR, three provinces had double-digit cases: Laguna 13, Rizal and Bulacan with 11 each. All other provinces had low single digit cases or ZERO COVID.

In the NCR, seven LGUs had double-digit cases: Quezon City 54, Caloocan 19, Manila 17, Pasig and Taguig with 16 each, Makati 14 and Las Piñas 11. Ten LGUs had low single digits cases.

Outside the NCR, eleven provinces had double-digit cases: Iloilo 40 (Iloilo City 5), Bulacan 28, Cavite 27, Rizal 23, Laguna 14, Aklan 13, Albay 12, Bataan and Cagayan with 11 each, Pampanga and Misaims Oriental with 10 each. All other provinces had low single digit cases or ZERO COVID.
