Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1981; he grew up in Cleveland before getting his degree in English from.Ohio University in 2004, before moving to SF in 2011. He's been bartending since the age of 21 starting his SF career at the @acesbarsf 6am shift; before moving on to @amsterdam_sf, @edinburghcastle.sf and Wreck Room. He was the glue that stuck my Covid Pod Squad together while bartending at @amsterdam_sf during the bleaker days of 2020. I'm forever grateful for him and have appreciated his support as a friend, bartender and patron of my art for the beartnder part of 2 years. He's also the only person I know who stole an apartment in SF and got away with it for several months! Just a general all around bad ass! 'TRANQUILIDAD' Here are the completed shots of my latestes mural 'Tranquilidad' (tranquility) commissioned by TL local Thomas Ernstorfer. Thomas migrated from Satiago, Chile to the TL several years back and has a great appreciation for this neighborhood, city and it's culture since his first days arriving here. We had become friends through @amsterdam_sf during this time of Covid, as he immediately became part of the TL infamous Covid Pod Squad. For me it's been a hectic and anxiety stricken week on a number of levels. Working with Thomas on this mural each night at his new place provided a much needed relief from my daily stresses! Thomas gave me complete creative freedom to create whatever I wanted, favoring my more geometric and abstract works. As I often do with my patrons these days, I ask for a single word or concept that holds meaning in their life to work from. I use that word (concept) as the foundation of that specific mural. This also allows for a collaboration between artist and patron. Thomas chose the word 'Tranquilidad'. That was a great starting point! It's been a great week working, eating drinking and smoking at his place. It was a great experience getting into one another's minds as I put this together. Between working, attending a Chilean BBQ in his backyard, and being turned on to various new styles music (ranging from Punk, Orchestra, Flamenco and Metal coming out of Chile, Latin America and Europe); this was surely a culturally rewarding experience! Covid Pod Squad Chronicles 2 'Oh La La' Here some more highlights for my Covid Pod Squad (aka The Loins) from Jarrod's 40th birthday bash. Honestly this was one of my favorite Covid nights since the pandemic began in March. I know this year has been rough on so many people. However, witnessing all of the positive changes that occured for so many people in SF due this upheaval has been fascinating to witness. The mass tech exodus, plumeting rents (allowing hard working people that actually care and contribute to the city to finally have a beable to live like adults and not be forced into highly over priced closet style living), less city conjestion, drinking on the streets, outdoor parklets, the return of street art, murals going up everwhere, no entitled over paid 'professionals' rudely bumping onto you as they drive their motorized scooters on the sidewalk, no mass evictions, empty office buildings, more polite and civilized ediquite on the street (hence far less techies), people helping eachother, people finally being able to rethink their lives outside of the unnecessary rat race this city previously provided them, new creative ways of thinking, making new friends and outdoor rooftop birthday parties!!!! Covid Pod Squad Chronicles 1 'Glenda and The Loins' I'm a bit of a procrastinator, but who cares; it's fucking Covid. Theze were taken on Oct.29th for my friend Jarrod Ingram's 40th birthday bash. Considering he hasn't celebrated his bithday since he was a kid (his last birthdays party was held at McDonalds), we decided to go HARD! Thanks to @hornetbees hosting this fully decorated and catered party on her roof/apartment, we were able to make a highly memorable evening! Everybody knows that I'm not a fan of wearing tee shirts. If you've caught me at at @amsterdam_sf, any one of my recent art openings or simply at a houseparty; I like to get loose. Usually I get most of the dudes on board, so it was nice to have @hornetbees get in the mix and add to the gender diversity!
