As The World Falls Down // Kida & Jafar
A row of long fingers grasped a glowing object in it's palm. The item was a crystal with a long history behind it. It once belonged to a city that had disappeared many years ago. As he gazed down at the illuminated stone, a rush of memories flooded his mind. Images of screaming citizens and the roar of an oncoming wave engulfed his senses. Then he saw her. The Queen of Atlantis was ascending into the sky like a magnet to some beacon. Whatever this shining light was, it was taking Kashekim's wife away. He could barely hear a child's cries before he rode far into the distance.
Now he stood in a long room within his palace. There in the center of the room was his means of escape all those years ago. It was an Atlantean vessel that could carry him through the sky by means of the crystal. It harnessed enough power to send this fish-like ship into the air. As he straddled the machine once again, he began to think about the Heart of Atlantis. He had only heard trace rumors about such a thing and he wondered if it had been destroyed during the sinkage. Pushing the thought away, he placed the crystal inside a small notch and applied gentle pressure against a pad in front of him. Immediately, the vehicle began to glow just as brightly as the crystal and rise into the air. With a satisfied smile, he jerked his head towards a naga beast who waited for his command. The snake-like guard pulled open a large door at the end of the room, revealing the outside kingdom of Ophidian. Without much hesitation, he sped forward with the vessel and flew out of the palace.
Several hours passed before he found the right area to dive beneath the ocean's waters. The ship submerged quickly and with haste, found the tunnels that would lead to the city. He had to fly through a large outer cave that would finally lead him to Atlantis. Along the way he spotted some creatures that looked familiar. At least something was 'alive'. That gave him a shred of hope. The forgotten city soon came into view as he excited the caverns. As he flew up to the city, he began to wonder how he would be received. Thousands of years had passed. Would they even remember who he was?
Jafar landed the vessel with ease and climbed off just in time to see a series of guards with spears running towards him. Of course, he thought. They don't take kindly to visitors. Holding up his hands, he tried to show them he meant no harm. It was then that he began to speak in their native tongue.
"Please, be still! I am of no danger to you."
(He's speaking in Atlantean even though I'm typing in English. Just to make it...easier.)
