unfortunately if i do push too hard i will really get into trouble and honestly im a Coward. i do my best but its difficult. my mom is a lot braver abt calling her out than i am.

i’m really lucky in that my direct family are all loud advocates when it comes to things like BLM, LGBT rights, etc., so i know they’ll always have my back in this kind of stuff. i know a lot of people are in more precarious situations with family though, which sucks because it does make those conversations a lot more difficult

STILL idk your whole situation but if you’re at all able i really would recommend trying to start the conversation when it comes up, even if you’re not able to fully make a scene just gently bringing up the key points for why this is so important can make a big difference in helping people understand

same i was excited and then i heard that there wont be the whole pokedex and i tried to convince myself im still excited but im just not.

the thing is, it’s not even just the dex cut that’s the issue. the dex cut is a scummy cash grab to get people to put their pokemon into pokemon home and then dangle the chance that ONE DAY they MAYBE will get to bring their pokemon into a game again, and every other excuse they’ve given for it is bullshit, but it’s not even just that that’s disappointing!

there is nothing i’ve heard about this game that makes it superior to what we’ve already been doing for years- oh except, you can make the pokemon giant i guess? y’know, the ~40% of the roster that’s in galar anyway. oh and only for 3 turns. and curry! yup, we can make curry. cool i guess. “superior animations”, apparently, except the pokemon animations look just the same as ever, and the wild area they’re hyping up looks absolutely barren. the characters actually have facial expressions now! that’s a genuine plus point, i’ll give them that. 

meanwhile, over half the pokedex is gone. mega evolutions are gone, every other gimmick they’ve ever used is gone. still no contests, still no pokemon following you in the overworld. exp share can’t be turned off. i’d love to be surprised once the game comes out and find out that there’s a long, interesting storyline this time or an extensive post game but i’m not holding my breath. nothing about this game indicates it’s the first main console game and deserves the price it’s being sold at.  

but ABOVE ALL THAT, the most infuriating thing? the dev team for pokemon showing their absolute disdain for anyone who dare criticise them. masuda thinks kids only care about mindless smartphone games nowadays, so why put effort into an actual video game; they tried to hide the dexit reveal because they knew it would piss people off, and STILL haven’t officially announced it in japan; the lead art designer publicly approved of someone on twitter calling people criticising SwSh ‘indignant cunts’. 

pokemon might be considered a kids game but i didn’t think it was being developed by actual children until this whole mess. it’s pathetic. 

i love pokemon with all of my heart, but i cannot buy this game in good faith when all i’ve seen so far is an endless number of cut corners and the devs sneering at anyone who does anything but kiss their ass. i just can’t, man.

I think its good. Its the first ‘modern’ fire emblem game, so I think it actually catapulted the franchise towards newer audiences. Its a bit clunky compared to fates & valencia (especially in terms with supports & romances) but overall a solid, challenging, and rewarding game.

awakenings not that bad, and technically it saved the franchise so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (i dont like fates personally tho tbh)

theres a pair of twins in my french class and they literally always dress in matching clothes. always. it is unsettling

god youre so brave. ive gotten into arguments with my racist grandmother but she is a brick wall so i just hide my posts from her now cuz its annoying and im not getting through to her.

nah honestly it’s nothing big- i have nothing to lose for calling out my grandad apart from like... idk he might not sent me a tenner in my birthday card anymore? so i’m not frightened of him. literally the worst he can do is call me disrespectful and block me like he has over this (lmao) and honestly all that does is fuel me

ideally i always hope that when i get into these discussions with people it can end in us actually having a discussion and them understanding the issues with what they’re saying, but ultimately a lot of the time they are unwilling to listen. it sucks, but you gotta keep trying yknow

shipping stuff is always an option but honestly it’s pricey and a hassle and if i can avoid it i’m very much going to lmao

my plan is to basically just cut down my belongings to the bare minimum for now so i don’t have to pay for extra luggage or shipping when i head home and then once i’m back just go wild with my freedom to actually purchase clothing and such again
