character solidifying questions ;
5. were they overprotected as a child?
kira’s mother very much has a ‘make your own mistakes and clean them up on your own’ attitude and the same went for kira’s childhood. though she was given the obvious boundaries, her parents never wrapped her in cotton wool. she was allowed to climb trees and ride her bike around and play sport. however, kira was protected from the truth about who she was and who her mother was. so, in that respect, she was overprotected.
6. did they feel rejection or affection as a child?
it differed with noshiko and ken. ken was more affectionate towards kira, while noshiko didn’t act as loving. kira never felt rejection from her mother, though she felt different. her mother valued strength and resilience, but kira was a very gentle, shy child who didn’t tend to stand up for herself. ken would tell noshiko that kira would grow up one day and learn to fight her own battles. and luckily, she did.
27. how do they wear their clothing? style?
kira has always been rather daring with clothes. when she grew older and started buying her own clothes, she became able to express this. her clothing is bright, bold and usually colourful. she prefers comfy shoes, though isn’t against wearing heels. she wears her clothing with confidence. it’s one of the few things that she does wear with that sense of pride. being clumsy, awkward and altogether not the typical girl to stand out, she likes to avert attention away from her and towards her clothes. she finds it far easier that way.
48. how are their gestures?
kira is a very energetic girl. her teachers used to say she was like a little bolt of lightning due to how quickly she’d talk and move. as she’s grown older, she’s become more controlled. she now tries to limit her gestures whilst speaking to simply using her hands, though facially she’s very active during conversation. with almost constantly widened eyes, kira’s not amazing at hiding her emotions. she also has a nervous habit of playing with her hands, or whatever she can find, whilst talking, most often if she’s lying or very anxious.
kira talks very fast, not often breaking for breath. this leads to her voice sounding breathy at times, particularly when she's flustered or nervous. she has a high voice, which raises when she's particularly fervent in what she's saying. kira places a lot of emphasis on certain words in attempts to express herself further. she's used to wording things badly or being misunderstood, so she likes to emphasise words to try to make sure she's getting her message across to whomever she's speaking to.
