It’s been nights since you stepped outside your door except for nightly trips to the bar. Your fridge is full of outdated food but you think it still tastes fine to eat. You seem to not make the connection between that and your frequent stomach aches. Those might be caused by the constant stress you’re in as well. They left you weeks ago. Though its felt like its been sweeps. Its almost as though time has slowed ten fold since they left. You miss their smell. The way their arms felt when they wrapped them around you paired with hands slightly twisting your shirt as they clung onto you. You miss laying in bed on lazy nights and going out and running through the woods like children on more energetic days. You miss the silly snowball fights and the cramped showers as both of you would try to squeeze into it. You thought they were your other half though they must have thought differently. After being out all night, later than usually. They finally came hive. You were reading but quickly closed your book and set it aside. Then you saw the look on their face. You wished they didn’t come hive at all. They sat next to you with a look of pain and guilt plastered on their face and they refused to make eye contact with you. Their mouth formed awful words that felt like a knife going through your chest. ‘I’ve found someone else’ A confused dizziness consumed your head as you tried to make sense of what they said. You felt the back of your skull throb and you face scrunched up. You didn’t feel like crying but you couldn’t stop the burn in your eyes. They moved to get up but you grabbed onto their hand which they yanked away. You plead with them. Your voice cracking with pain at every word. They told you they were tired. They wanted something new. You stood up in a fit of anger and loomed over them though they weren’t intimidated. They turned their back and you did nothing in response. You couldn’t hurt them. It was just a bluff. They said they’d get their possessions and be on their way. None of your pleads got through to them. They wouldn’t even look at you. You would’ve been an embarrassment to yourself if it wasn’t for the fact you were so torn. You followed them out the door, sobbing. They didn’t look back as they walked out. The first thing you did was collapse onto the floor in a fit of sadness. You don’t know how long you cried for. You sobbed hard you were sent into coughing fits that made you gag. After hours of sobbing in one place on the floor. You suddenly stood up and wiped your face. You wondered into the bathroom and stared at yourself in the mirror for a few moments before washing your face with cold water. You walked into your bedroom to get your coat on.

You’ve been sitting in your hive, self loathing and filled to the brim with sadness along with bitterness. It’s cold and you’ve never had seasonal depression; you usually love winter but the frozen ground makes your heart ache. You’ve been bar hopping. Your alcoholic and whorish habits coming back into your life when you never thought they would. Sleeping with strangers has become a norm in your life again but you do not do it because you want to but simply to fill a very empty feeling place in your chest. You’re lonely. Work is you life but you haven’t gone in nights. You know they’re worried about you they try to call but you never answer. You’re sure you’ll be fired soon enough. You’ve seem to forget how to groom yourself; you’re chin covered with dark scruff. You smell like alcohol and sweat and you realize that. Yet you still can’t find the energy to get up and bathe yourself. You’ve barely eaten and its very obvious that your muscular frame is slowly vanishing. If someone were to see you on the streets they wouldn’t realize you’re a high end cop with a taste for expensive living. When you look in the mirror now. You don’t see yourself anymore; you just see an empty shell of what you used to be. You’re no better than one of them. One of those dirty lowbloods that cover the busy streets of the city. You’ve broken glasses, chairs, and anything else you can pick up and throw. However, you always seem to feel guilty afterwards. The troll at the furniture shop laughed and asked if you were buying a whole hive. You just smiled and laughed it off, saying that you were just doing some readjustments with your decor. You wish that was the truth and you felt guilty for lying. You’re all alone. You don’t have many friends. Its eating you alive. Yet you can’t seem to be able to do anything about it but slowly wilt away. You hope in the next couple days you’ll be dead. You don’t want to be here anymore.
