I have just been given a cpap machine for my slaap apnea and it's doing my head in! It starts out okay, the mask fit test on the machine tells me I have a good seal and I lay back and try to breathe normally. It takes about half an hour, but I do fall asleep. After about an hour and a half the pressure from the machine starts to cause the mask seal around my cheeks to make a fart sound and wakes me up. No adjusting my mask seal will fix it and all I can do is turn off my machine. As it is it only seems to maintain the mask seal when my mouth is open and full of air, which is uncomfortable and is causing my mouth to get painfully dry.
Does anyone out there have any tips? I have to have a full face mask due to a deviated septum and I don't know if I can make a full face mask work. It's only been two nights but I'm more tired than I was without the machine!
