On Friday, March 30th, I had the pleasure to showcase my art work in an event held at Towson University that was spearheaded by a social/community organization called Sisterhood and co-sponsored by Towson’s chapter of the National Council of Negro Women. At “Black Girl Magic”, I was able to join a plethora of young, black women who specialize in various fields and are actively trying to make a name for themselves with their business, practice, or organization. I really enjoyed my chance to showcase some of my older and new art work,,market my creative abilities, and network with pro-black students, creatives, and entrepreneurs on another campus.

Pentathlon Event Five

At the first juke joint of the semester, which took place on Thursday, August 31st, I was supremely impressed by musical performances from many acts, but especially my friends. Tomi, Lami, Layo, Adaeze, and Sam wowed the crowd, myself included, when they took the stage by storm with their mashup of SZA’s “The Weekend” and Tory Lanez’ “Say It”. While I had already gotten sneak peaks of them practicing in my apartment, hearing the harmony and melody of their voices the day of was still an amazing experience.

This is one of my favorite picture because not only was it taken with one of my favorite campers on our Color Run Day, but it was also a picture that literally captured the essence of the #carefreeblackkids2016 movement that thrived at Forcey Day Camp this past summer. The lighting in this picture is amazing all thanks to Mother Nature, as it was taken with large windows to the left of me and my camper. Also, I believe that the fact that I took this photo using the HDR feature on my iPhone 6′s camera along with the auto-fix/auto-edit aided in making this image more crisp and vivid. Although I am neither a professional photographer nor model, I love this picture because of how well both the features of Apple smartphones and nature worked with each other.
