“I’ll be there in fifteen; Pike out.”
Captain Pike rubbed the sleep from his eyes and climbed out of bed before popping into the sonic shower for a quick refresh.
After donning his uniform, he made his way into the bustling corridors of the U.S.S. Enterprise, nodding and greeting crewmembers as they passed and acknowledged him. He hopped into the turbolift just before it closed with two other crewmembers inside, and later stepped out onto Deck 7, where Sickbay was located.
Chris strode into Sickbay and Dr. Phil Boyce looked up to acknowledge his entry. “Captain,” he nodded. “How much sleep this time? Fifteen, twenty minutes?”
“Ninety, as it so happens,” Pike replied.
“I’ll alert the media,” Boyce remarked dryly.
“Hey; no grief, Phil. You called me, remember? Where’s our new guest?”
Boyce nodded his head to indicate the biobed occupied by the now-conscious woman they’d rescued from an escape pod floating listlessly in space.
Pike walked over to her bedside and met her gaze.
“Good to see you awake, finally. I’m Christopher Pike, captain of the Federation starship Enterprise.”
Jennifer looked at her as she was curious as to what was going on. She worked on sitting up but winced and put a hand to her side and layed back gently. “The — Enterprise?”she asked as she was curious. As she had never had herd of a vessel that name in Time Force. “What year is it?”She asked curiously to the other.“I am, 2nd Lt. Jen Scott of Time Force Federation” The last part was a bit up to her. But she doubted that the other would have heard of such a thing if she was not in her own timeframe of 3325.
She winced as she tried to reach in her pocket for something when she heard Boyce chastise her for moving when she was still injured. “I am getting my credentials --” she stated as she looked at the other. “Their in my pocket--”she realized then she had been changed out of her white uniform and she sighed. She told the doctor where it was and when the other found it she handed it to Pike. Not knowing how he would react to the expiration date of her license as being 3328 for renewal for military credentials or that the fact that such an organization existed.
