The tears Sam shed over having to use his last ninth-level spell in C1 was more narratively romantic than anything that has happened this 8h C3 episode.
That's how you turn mechanics and rules into storytelling.

Other than Matt ripping my heart into pieces, the rest of the episode was amazing.
I loved the way Fearne and FCG said "fuck it" to the airship plan, and trusted Ira to get Xandis out of the ship safely.
How they basically used a Trojan Horse to infiltrate, with Imogen girlbosssing her way through.
The locket! How Matt reminds everyone that not every enemy is an evil villain, some of them have families, and reasons to be there that they think are right for them...
FCG almost killing Ryn... welp. I guess she doesn't need that arm, even if she makes it out alive. Her friend Allura could probably recommend her a certain tinkerer who could probably make her an arm, tho.
Imogen almost turned Liliana against Ludinus!!! If it hadn't been for that bad roll, I think a lot would have been different, and that is the beauty of D&D.
I'm excited to see the new party split, especially with FCG and Chet being so far north. I hope we finally get to learn some Chet lore, and, who knows, maybe an Aeor visit for FCG???
I'm excited about the possibility that Orym, Ash, and Laudna being in Tal'Dorei. Matt mentioned things happening to Opal, so I'm hoping we might get a Dorian and Opal return?
The next few weeks are going to be a rollercoaster, and I'm so not ready for it, but at the same time, I am.
FUCK! I LOVE CRITICAL ROLE! <3 Is it Thursday yet? T_T
why are we doing F*ord’s backstory for the millionth time when we did it extensively last time and T*avis got bored of it half way through
Love how Matt mentioned a superstition in Beau and Caleb’s research that a theory for the beacons and artifacts is parts of the moon breaking off and falling, the same episode we learn of the second, smaller moon, talk about Molly worshipping the Moonweaver, with that NPC from forever ago who we THOUGHT was crazy doing tons of research on the moon.
I feel like this is somehow a conspiracy theory but I have no idea how it all connects together.
A few words on this episode because it seems like these moments bring out the worst among us.
The last death that I feel carried this much hopelessness throughout the community was way back in campaign 1, ep 68.
We can’t call it just yet. The situation is rough as guts but it’s not all done.
We can surely be upset and boy I sure am, but it isn’t as if Molly simply blinked out of existence or was evaporated. Being upset is fine, it’s amazing how attached we can all get to these characters.
And come on, if there was anywhere in this world of Matt’s to house a cleric of the Moonweaver, where else but Shady Creek?
The issue comes when people take this sadness and vent it as anger, and I feel the need to say this despite dozens of you brilliant people in the community who already put it out there: If you’re thinking of blaming or giving hell to the cast, our dearest Ashly Burch, or Matt, just stop.Think about how horrible you’re being. None of them have an obligation to stream this game for us, and more importantly, none of them deserve to be treated like shit for decisions made in a fucking R O L E P L A Y I N G G A M E. I only bring this up because it truly upset me that Matt had to make a note in the post game saying “Hey please don’t give us shit,” and Marisha had to post on Twitter to try and stop some viewers from giving Ashly a rough time. Honestly, it feels like there are some losers watching this show who only derive joy from correcting Matt’s rules or yelling at the cast that their story is wrong. If you are consciously one of those people, fuck you, seriously.
We are so lucky as a community to have something like this, and the vast majority of you guys are brilliant and respectful. Posting this is probably a waste of time, but if it somehow stops one person from making us all look bad, then it’s worth it.
Certainly not the most original post, but if everyone thought that, we would be quiet, and the people who get a kick out of saying ‘marishas useless lul’ in Twitch chat become our voice, and we’re so much more than that.
WARNING FOR COMPLAINING 🥰
Now that all eps recordings are up... the ExU Divergence thumbnails are so ugly.
The image quality is weird, the lighting looks blown out, they look awkward, their outfits are mismatched.
And the people here (Divergence cast) are HOT. Ffs.
See? Cohesion! Sexy.
Look at it side by side with Downfall, and it wasn't even ExU proper. But Divergence's doesn't sell the tone of what we're about to watch AT ALL! Why those clothes? Why that gold frame that looks so awkward?
By all means do something to differ it from previous seasons but also make sure I can look and recognize that is Exandria Unlimited.
Please, this was THE season to put them all in black outfits or something grunge. Go raid Taliesin's old closet, you'll find them in there.
I don't know how people are mad at Ludinus. I'm just disappointed and bored. You did all that centuries long cosmic world wide fuss to then fuck off in a cabin????
Where is character cohesion? Where is verisimilitude? Consequences do I know her?
I will go out and say, Ludinus, you deserved a better campaign. You could've been so evil and cunty and amusing, but this is what you got, I'm so sorry, honey.
(All will be forgiven if we learn that canonically he went to live a cottage-core life with his old flame Bolo from Aeor.)
Decided to watch the finale only when it comes out on monday, but by the posts I'm seeing it's not looking good so far 👀
