The payoff in this episode! Matt seeded so many moments of subtle information and propaganda about Xhorhas and the Dynasty throughout the early campaign. And the result is that the characters can have this discussion about the Luxon without his input at all. They all have in-world information and experiences to base their opinions on.
And much of that information is wrong! But the characters have also had opportunities to see contrary information and representations of Xhorhas. The result is a discussion that is entirely player-led, and yet it is still productive and engaging. They didn't reach a conclusion, but they gain information and realize what they need to learn more about.
By the end of their talk, they have a clear idea of how serious a situation they are in ("We have their god in our haversack!"), and a clear goal: finding more information. They know that the information they have from the empire isn't good enough and they need a better picture. Active goals!
on my rewatch for cr2 and on ep 52 and matt brings up a "spy sending information to bladegarden" THAT MUST HAVE BEEN DAIREN
"How about this? When we get to the city, I just never see you again."
I definitely had to draw Sunbreaker Ulumon Oloman in all his glory
when nott was talking to zorth she got a bit of her old 'oi guvna’ british accent back which I had missed for so long. anyway I like to headcanon that she slips into that accent when talking to goblins.
Fjord going straight to save Nott when she was poisoned and paralyzed was such a beautiful callback to Travis in Talks towards the beginning of the campaign saying that Fjord's the most protective of Jester and Nott
