MechatrOhNo Well, here’s another attempt at a faced water block with the remainder of the material I used on the last piece. Sure am glad I decided to snap a few pics of the #mechatrowego before I poured resin all over it. A bit reluctant to post another fail, but hey I’m still proud of the piece and it will sit beautifully with my other art. Feeling better about my gradient, still not where I’d like but much less separation overall. Will be replacing this resin with one I can pour in one shot, been doing a lot of research and talking with @the.salty.robot to find a deep pour alternative , and I think I’ve found an expensive solution that will get the job done. This resin domed because of heat issues, which could have been fixed with a topper coat but I ultimately decided not to crack a fresh bottle of resin just to complete a ‘failed’ piece. Went a little dark with the dyes on this one. I actually love the look but it prohibits some light from getting out. But the lights didnt fry up in my pour so that’s a win as well. Printed a base for this one on my #cr6se that I’m fairly happy with, and adds a nice touch to the piece overall imo. Also have found a replacement wall material to help eliminate post processing. The one thing I’m probably going to need is a pressure pot and not to excited about that one. But seems to be a necessity. I’m learning, I swear.
