Giant Enemy Crabgot is technically a meme skin. It comes from an awkward Sony E3 conference presentation in 2013 (actually 2005, oops!) which, like most jokes that are almost a decade old, simply aren't worth explaining.

The original Giant Enemy Crabgot splash and design then piled on top the meme visual references to classic 50s monster B-movies, complete with a screaming interchangeable white woman slung over his shoulders, which... if you know the history of why so many 50s movie monsters loved abducting white women is... maybe a bit of an oopsie.

So enter his full visual update and the skins team decide to go absolutely fucking beast mode and replace all the dated memes and problematic 1950s monster tropes with a Pacific Rim and anime sleek interpretation of classic kaiju monster designs, turning Giant Enemy Crabgot from a bit of a cringey embarrassment, if we're honest, into straight up the best skin you can run on the character.
