so for #craftfriday I finished work on my sister’s doll,
adding golden blonde and mauve to the parting
Then I gently shaved off the damage to her inner upper arm with a box cutter and added nail art water decal ‘tattoos‘ using matt acrylic varnish (by Vallejo, great stuff), they are white feathers as I didn’t have anything else that would cover as much damage.
I also took her torn and damaged reversible dress and salvaged the inner polka dot part which was stretchy (and full print!) into a knee length dress which I really should NOT have modelled on this doll as it clashes terribly with her hair. I also should have gone with the other side of the fabric as plain royal purple looks much better without printed polka dots. hindsight schmindsight
Then I got out the paint and messily fixed up thermal hair Millie with the pink cheek dot:
[acryliac paints, restoredoll satin varnish sealant for the eyes, water diluted matt vallejo for the freckles, it’s seamless if you wipe the edges gently with a q-tip as it dries]
I need to redo the eyes as I was getting blurry by the time I got to them.
Here’s a photo of the colour change:
and here’s another millie who I felt needed darker eyes
