It had taken the tauren longer than it should to chase down the death knight but finally he had found one of the hangouts where it was safe for the tauren to enter. He steels himself by ordering a beer before he turns around to look for the worgen. When he finally sees him he smiles and then walks over and sits down.
The Worgenpreferred the non-affiliated taverns in the center of Dalaran, making him aneasy figure to find. It may have taken Adi a few glances to confirm it was him;after all, the weapon resting against the wall looked decidedly unlike hisruneblade, and the death knight wasn’t often found writing on several sheets ofparchment. Hearing the Tauren sit down,Stahldrauf slid a bit; not looking up, he rumbled a greeting. “Jus’ make surenot ta get ale on ‘em. Last think I wantis.. … ….Oh.” Mid-sentence, he lookedup, eyes widening in delighted surprise. It wasn’t just any Tauren that had sat next to him.
It wasAdi’wa.
In hisquick movement, the Worgen leapt from his chair, immediately half-tackling the Tauren in awarm hug. Their last words… well, theyhadn’t been kind. Draenor had been rough, but after the Legion’s invasion, thenagging worry that something bad happened hadn’t left the Worgen’sthoughts. Hugging him tight, his broadsmile could be felt against the small of the shaman’s neck.
“I’msorry.”

“Adi. Uhm. Hi. I know we didn’t speak 2 well the last time, but.... I hope you’re well.”
“I miss you.”
"Nonono, don't die on me."
“Adi, you gotta get back.” There’s a lull in the demon’s constantadvance. Even the Worgen seemed exhausted; his shoulders sagged, blue eyeswarily looking to the horizon. The two had stemmed the flow of attackers, buteven they had their limits. And now…there was something in the horizon. Something slowly advancing, proceeded by more of the same.
“I can’t leave you. Stahl… you’ll…. Not by yourself.” The unspokenhalf of that sentence was punctuated by a slight cracking in the shaman’svoice, the large Tauren taking a step forward. Gritting his teeth, the worgentook a step back, distancing himself. The Death Knight kept his gaze towards the oncoming force.
“I can fight harder. Uglier, when I don’t need to worry aboutcollateral damage.” Gripping hisruneblade, Stahl would step forward, a soft growl escaping his lips. “Adi,please. They need warnin’ to evacuate in time.”
“Stahl, don’t make me…”
“Go.” The Worgen’s voice broke softly as he heard the Tauren give asingle sob, the other turning back before disappearing into the bushes. “Ipromise I’ll try to make it back.”
Not all promises can be kept.
I am going to be difficult and give you 3 random words (yes, I used an random word generator) Annoying, Abundant, Quiet.
I don’t find you annoying in the very least! Although I do wish our interactions were more abundant; I guess being on separate sides of the world affects things.
I wish I wasn’t as quiet when it comes to reaching out!
((A little starter if you want it, I figure fuzzy timeline)) It had been ages since Adi had been back near people. Since his fight with Stahl he'd needed time alone. But that had only lasted until his sister had found him, damn her having been a damn good tracker, and given him a lecture. Now he was making his way back home, passing through a few more neutural villages on the way. In one he finally decides to have a drink in the tavern one night.
It had been nearly a year since the return from Tanaan. Ayear for Stahldrauf to heal and recover. These days, he was looking as hearty as he did prior to the worst of theconflict, his fur returning to its normal sheen. Since the jungle, he had simplytravelled. He had no destination in mind; his only goal was to help out wherehe could. They hadn’t come back through the portal alone, of course.
On this evening, he was relaxing in the tavern. Several folks he had been drinking with haddeparted, leaving him alone with a broad smile on his face. “Not bad folks, an’I’m glad ta see my Orcish is coming along.” Lifting the mug up to his lips, hetook a swig before a scent passed by his nose.
Normally, scents came and went. Very few stuck with him;those that did were either dear friends, or romantic encounters—those tend toengrain themselves on his memories. Thisone, though, struck a particular cord. “There’s… no fuckin’ way…”
Glancing out of the corner of his eye, he saw the Tauren.Alive, thankfully. “Thank the light.” He hadn’t seen Adi since… well. Since ya fucked things up nice an’ goodthere, Stahl. Just keep ta yerself. Fixating on his mug, his featurescreased into a frown, unconsciously gripping the mug of ale. Adi was alive, back in Azeroth, and apparently unhurt.
The Worgen didn’t want to mess that up.
Would Stahl rather have Rat or Adi tied up on their knees in Stahl's bedroom?
“I... I hafta choose?” There’s a brief grumble, although it’s (sadly) pretty brief. “Adi. No slight against Rat, but I tend ta like bigger guys. An’ Adi’s a bit more gentle.” There’s another moment, before he clarifies. “Not ta say I can’t take it, but sometimes I wanna avoid an awkward conversation with my druid friend who patches me up.”
Stahl: When they felt most alive And When they were angry (with Adi)?
Alive
If asked directly, Stahldrauf would give a moresuperficial answer. Maybe a nice day in the forest by himself, or when he foundDenistin for the first time since his passing. The given answer was never theactual truth, however.
At the end of the day, the hulking Worgen wasstill a Death Knight. A far cry from the angry, bitter, violent being he waswhen the control was first broken, but Scourge conditioning ran deep.Impossibly deep. While he had made tremendous progress, there was little morethat was as thrilling as wading deep into a battle. It wasn’t something he would share withanyone… and a reason why he was always found in the tavern after a skirmish.
Angry
“You want to be a what?!” The last partechoed with a mixture of disbelief and rage. “Yer a druid! How could youeven…?!” No doubt, his anger was largely fueled by guilt; had he not bungledthe response to Adi’s confession, this may be going differently. This was something he would realize later;for now, there was only furious disbelief. “I ain’t even gonna begin ta answerthat! It’s… it’s…” Sputtering, he tried to find the words for it. “I. No! Yerwhat Azeroth needs! They don’t need more of me walkin’ around, throwin’diseases, unable to heal or grow things.”
His fists clenched in a desire to simply dosomething, the Worgen beginning to pace. “An’ if someone even tries taturn ya… I. I won’t let it happen.”
