Swirls of tart cranberry sauce make this ice cream look just right for the holidays. With its creamy, sweet, and sour taste, it's a great treat for parties.
Ingredients: 2 cups heavy cream. 1 cup whole milk. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 cup tart cranberry sauce. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Instructions: Put the heavy cream, milk, and sugar in a saucepan. Heat them over medium-low heat, stirring every now and then, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Leave it alone until it's cool enough to touch. Add the vanilla extract and mix well. Put the mixture in the fridge for at least four hours or overnight to cool it down. Put the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn it according to the machine's directions until it's the consistency of soft serve. In a container that can go in the freezer, layer the churned ice cream and cranberry sauce one on top of the other, gently swirling with a spoon or spatula. Before you serve, freeze the ice cream for at least 4 hours, or until it's firm.
