30 Day Rider Challenge Day 20 - Saddest Moment
Spoilers Ahead!
This was not really hard to decide at all. I was ORIGINALLY planning to say Yuka's (from Kamen Rider 555/Faiz) deaths. But then I started to think...
I couldn't find too much sadness from her death within the Lost Paradise Movie, After all I found Kaido suddenly liking reciprocating her feelings (After the series at least) too out of character, and while emotional... it was just too out there given series build up to take as seriously.
So it became 'Yuka's Series Death'... However when I thought about it more once again, while sad, her entire existence as the series told us was just much sadder than simply when her suffering finally ended. I mean she was horrifically bullied, not only in school but her own sister. Her only respite during all this is her pen pal (Unknown to her Keitaro) whom she can never truly see. And then she dies (Basically in the series/movies she had 3 deaths!?) only to be reborn as the Crane Orphnoch. She has to go through the trauma of becoming a monster, being kicked out of the family home, as well as more bullying from her tormentors. When she finally snaps and (Deservedly) kills them all she runs off, to get one of her few breaks in the show, meeting Kiba and eventually Kaido.
She finally had a (Somewhat) happy existence with only the odd hiccup until later in the series when things all started kicking off. Despite the fighting going on she and Keitaro finally realised they were pen pals and it looked like Yuka could find happiness and love with Keitaro (Having been rejected many times during the series by Kaido, who basically treated her like a doormat, hence why Paradise Lost is such a bitter pill to truly swallow for me) only to be killed off a few episodes later!
While her death was truly upsetting (And the reactions from it heartbreaking) it was really not the saddest thing. Yuka's entire life, bar a brief spell, was basically that of both physical and mental torment. Her death served as a catalyst for the endgame of the series, and while I understand why it was needed I just found so much sadness from the character and the way she was treated, I only wish there was a way she could have been given a happy ending rather than being killed off so bitterly. She deserved more.
Rant over. XD
