Exact-fucking-ly! A girl at my barn stayed there all night because her horse had a colic scare. FYI non-horse people: that's normal equestrian behavior.
Me: I'm so stressed out with what's going on in my life, no matter what adults around me may say. If I didn't have my barn time, I'd crash and burn. Horseback riding lifted me from a very deep depression. I still suffer from depression, but it has become manageable because of riding. When I'm there, so much weight is lifted off of my shoulders and I come home happy.
Equestrianism is really different from a lot of other sports and hobbies/lifestyles. Unless someone is an equestrian themselves, they will never understand the hook horses have on us; taking it away is like ripping out a fishing hook that's deep in.
