Sam's Birthday Week 2026 - Day 5 | Happy Birthday, Sam!!

2017, week 4. The theme was Sam. It's on the small side now because it was made for the gif perimeters at the time. I remember making this one, but also that I didn't have some big plan for him like with some of the others. I used to look at the whole theme schedule, and start making notes about things for the whole season, but in this case, I wanted to do something that encompassed his character rather than highlight any particular moments, which I'd done the previous season. That's where the idea of the aura came from.

There's a blooming light coming from him and sparkling colored light around, and that's really how I had always pictured him, so weirdly, it felt kind of intimate to me, though I'm not exactly sure why, I wasn't then and I'm not now, but somewhere in that is how he reads to me. Plus, sparkly stuff is fucking rad.
