A California district court has approved a settlement between the PC manufacturer Lenovo and a group of customers to wrap up a class action that began after an adware that caused a serious vulnerability had been discovered on various Lenovo laptop models. The laptop maker will pay a total of $7.3 million while Superfish, the producer of the adware, will pay another million dollars to close the litigation for good.
Backup-sotware-maker Acronis still crap!!!
Acronis Backup-software-makers are still the same crap-business as in 2015, when I had a dishearteningly bad experience with that business. Beside wasting my money on them; they attempted to charge me £30 to support their faulty software [would not restore backup, putting out some error-message]. Imagine; you buy a new car, which is faulty on the second day and the seller tells you that they want to charge you a considerable amount of money to repair their faulty car!!! How about warranty [which is min. one year in the UK and usually two in the EU]??? I wanted to see whether they have changed/ whether it would be worth to pay an upgrade-fee for their latest version of Acronis "True Image" 2018. Here are some feedback-reviews from Amazon:
