Why should couples have merely two children?
Earth needs a breathing-break. Planned Parenthood/ family-planning is one of the fundamental solutions required to curb the climate-crisis. A balanced human population and eventual reduction benefits everyone & mostly the aspiring couples, who reproduce just once or twice. One can always adopt or foster children or offer oneself to care at times for neighbours’/ neighbourhoods’ children &/or work in child-care & -education!!
Why should couples NOT have more than two children?
Metaphor: What happens to a rubber-band that one overstretches? Nothing, you might say; but overstretch it violently & repeatedly (as humans do with Earths’ resilience) & it will snap/ tear apart. Humans’ folly of unsustainable resource-extraction combined with the population-explosion is tearing Earth’s resilience apart. {The human population exploded from just one billion people around the 19th century to 7.6 billion people in 2020 (& still exponentially growing).} One should be able to recognise that this careless baby-making & consequential population-growth can not last!
A ‘natural’ population-reduction would occur only through sudden collapse of resources {water, food & most other fundamental resources}!!!
Just look at water-supplies all around the world! Several major-/mega-towns have had already occurrences of water nearly running out & being saved by rainfall by just a few days!! {A Quarter of Humanity Faces Looming Water Crises}
A human dies of thirst after THREE days without drinking-water!!!
{If one has to drill for water deeper than about ten metre, then one is living already of future water-supplies through rainfalls [precipitation].
The groundwater-tables all around Earth are rapidly declining! Many water-wells have already run dry & the remaining major-aquifers are declining exponentially. {People are drilling for new water-sources deeper & deeper. Increasingly, new water-sources can not be found anymore (as aquifers have dried out)}.
Couples (& consequently their children) benefit greatly from limiting their offspring-size to two children.
Think about it: Everyone benefits & Earth too.
I believe in positive growth of quality of human's lives; & it goes hand-in-hand with sustainable development & economic transition to battle the climate-crisis!!
The quantitative growth of humans beyond 1 billion people is a terrible aberration & fallacy (of gods will). Earth is dying, because of Humans’ folly; & the easiest options to revitalise Earth are planned Planned Parenthood/ Family Planning, developing renewable resources & diverse tree-planting/ regeneration of Earths’ soils.
Just ask yourself:
What can one achieve with two billion people that one could NOT already achieve with one billion people?
1’000 Million people would already suffice for the human species to advance & flourish to its fullest possibilities!!!
Reiteration; 2020: There are now 7.7 billion [7.600’000’000 or 7’600 Million] people on Earth!!!
Planned Parenthood-solutions:
There are many temporary solution for couples.
The most effective solution is an IUD [intrauterine device]. It can be 99% effective (depending on the type).
They can last three to five years & can be removed any time.
{In comparison; male condoms are approximately 82% effective. Meaning, there is a 18%-chance to cause an unwanted pregnancy, because of possible condom-failure.}
Access to Planned Parenthood-/ family-planning-tools unlocks also other development goals, incl. gender-equality, education & economic opportunities.
Example & a few circumstances in regard to population-growth:
Ie. Poland; at least one million Poles are living in the UK now & more Poles in other EU-countries, etc. More people (ie. in Poland) = lower wages (as desperate people accept lower wages to survive; or endeavour to find a better livelihood elsewhere).
Alas: Some nationalist-fascistic governments & religious movements intend to use their population as imperialistic weapon
.Eg. certain Imams, Mullahs & Priests reject any form of planned-parenthood. An obvious example is Turkey’s present ‘supreme leader’ Erdogan: Erdogan calls on Turkish families in Europe to have five children to protect against 'injustices'
Presidents, such as Trump, USA, are denying now development-opportunities by defunding Planned-Parenthood-/ reproductive-health-programmes in developing countries, which diminishes access to eg. planned-parenthood-tool, such as condoms, IUD/s, etc. [more people = less income/ family].
(Historic example, Hitler-Germany, breeding children for German imperialistic expansion - & as militaristic canon-fodder.)
