Crazy Lady
So one of my co-workers (nicknamed "crazy lady" by a friend/former co-worker) acted as though she was doing a really nice thing today. She brought me back a fax that was like 26 pages long.
She tried to hand it to me (while my hands were full) and then commented that she thinks there is more.
WHY THE HELL ARE YOU BRINGING IT TO ME THEN? WHY SEPARATE IT SO THAT IT CAN GET CONFUSING AND LOST?
But I couldn't say that ('cause she gets all bi-polar on us) so I just nodded and told her to leave it on the counter.
Later, when I had a moment, I glanced at the fax. 26 of 39 pages were there. So I waited. And I waited, thinking she would bring me the rest. I know that in her mind if she does this for me it would be seen as something nice she is doing for me and we could be all buddy-buddy. Meanwhile, I was busy doing other things.
Finally, as I was heading to the main office for other reasons I stopped by the fax machine, and seeing it empty figured it was out of paper - a common occurance. Nope, the paper was fine but what do you know the fax machine was out of ink.
My assessment of the situation is the fax stopped printing. It sat there long enough to bug her to check what the many pages were and for whom. She saw it wasn't done (the last page on top showing 26 of 39) and saw that the ink was out and didn't want to be bothered to fix it.
That would totally be her M-O, just like saying she is above a certain job function and in the next breath saying I should do it in a voice to make it sound amazing. Which tells me she thinks she is better than me and shouldn't have to do trivial tasks. But we are secretaries at a school, no one can get away from trivial tasks regardless of our education levels, experience or length of employment.
And now I've let Crazy Lady get under my skin. Oh how I'd love to just put her in her place.
A 'Hawaiian' punch or two would make me feel good too. <being that I'm part Hawaiian>
