Tiredness was all over his face. You could see it in purple stains around his green teary eyes. He puled his hands up and used them to remind blood to roll over to his cheeks and give them some color. "No, damn it!" he said realizing he was at home. It'd be so much easier to get his ass back to work if he was already there. Pouring himself some cold coffee he put on a clean white shirt and moved over to the fridge that was surprisingly empty - unlike the one he had in his hospital room. Just as the thought of a Grecian girl entered his mind he got a call. "Hello." followed the strange sound that he once put for his ringtone. "I...I know. I'll be right there. Page Smith, she's supposed to be on call now." he told the young nurse that found his number in hospital emergency contacts. Putting peace of yesterdays bread in his mouth he walked out of the small clean apartment on the cold dusty hallway. His jacket was stuck in the door so he had to look for his keys to unlock the door and set himself free. While looking a peace of bread went through the wrong pipe and he started madly coughing. Putting his right hand in the air he allowed himself to breathe before unlocking the door.
His morning was going pretty bad, but the thing that proved this day was going to be awful was miles of traffic jam and his old car breaking on the last turn for MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Deciding not to spend a moment longer waiting for some idiots to come and pick his peace of s**t car from the road so they can charge him double than his car was worth, he started walking. Forgetting to look if there were any cars approaching he crossed the road and found him self a bit further than he was previously placed. Guy got out of the yellow cab and the woman on the front seat - probably a nurse, cause she called 'on call' doctor right away - jumped next to him to see if he was okay. "I'm fine...I'm late." he tried to get up but the woman wouldn't let him. "I said I'm fine." and just as he repeated he noticed a blood dropping on his clean white shirt. Stitches he had on his head were broken and the feeling he had in his chest indicated he might've had a broken rib. "I'm...I'm late for work, you don't understand I have to be there, like now." he used nurses hand and stood up allowing himself to feel the pain for two seconds before continuing his walk towards the entrance door of the hospital.
He managed to sneak in without anyone noticing him and change his bloody clothes to working uniform. His breathing was heavy so he took care of it by applying pressure to the broken rib. "Damn it." and the blood from his head was gone, replaced with new - ugly stitches that will most likely leave a scar.
Once his blood pressure was back at normal Noah got out out of the locker room and went straight to the second floor to check his patients. But just as he thought his day couldn't get any worse, he found the first room empty. "Wh..Kelly, where's patient from 204?" he asked as she looked through the charts. "There is no patient there doc." confused, he thought he may have missed the room but was sure that she was there. "Wh...patient with the hole in her abdomen? One who almost walked out that door even though she was filled with sedatives?" her face indicated she had no idea what he was talking about. "According to records, that room's been empty for quite some time. No girl, no nothing. Are you okay doc?" he wasn't crazy, she was there. He was with her for a long time and there were quite some people at the door. He was sure he didn't make it up but he was hit by a car and maybe...no, he was sure she was there, he just needed to find her. "I need to find her. She's around here somewhere." Kelly grabbed his hand. "There's no one there Donavan. Did you have enough sleep? You don't sleep at all...go..go rest for a while. And...let someone take care of those stitches on your head." he ignored her completely until he heard a word name. "What?" she kept her big blue eyes focused on him. "Girl, what was her name? Maybe she's in the data or something." that was it, that was the little proof he had that he was probably going a little crazy. "I...I don't know...I should. I have to go." and he did. He locked himself inside the small room with brooms and other cleaning products, he could hear his heart beat it was almost louder than his breaths.
