“Ye’re more than welcome to come up if ye want. I can show ye around the ranch. Can ye ride a horse?”
Her smile only worsened his own. "How ya doin', crazy? Ya look good."
“Haven’t lost any o’ my charm, then?” she chuckled, leaning back in her chair. “I was havin’ a fairly average day until ye came and brightened it up. Miss me?”
So she said. Maybe one day it would dawn on her. She'd hear about his daughter or see a photo and the next day she'd be gone. "I'll Skype ya tomorrow, then."
“I’m lookin’ forward to it,” she said with that same bright, full smile. “See ye then, silly man.”
"Feels kinda fast. Don't it? Waitin' for the catch still."
“Maybe a wee more than usual. But fast or no’, there’s no catch.”
"From day one, yeah. Ya really are. I don't get it."
“Which part don’t ye get?”
"You're -" he caught himself before he could finish. "Missed ya, too."
