2 questions! After adjusting the blue or red layer to overlay, do you erase excess sloppy color? Also, how do you keep the color out of the hairline, but still get the skin poking through?

yes of course, anything to make the picture look clean and good! I use a soft eraser to carefully go over it up close. then blend the color into the hairline with a small size smudge brush into the skin parts!
