Wife Carrying

Sports like Football, Basketball and Hockey are examples of popular sports that we love to watch on TV and cheer on in the arenas around the world. But there are also sports that are a little bit forgotten and don’t get that much attention. The reason for this is off course the unpopularity, but could it also have something to do with the craziness? An example of a crazy sport is wife carrying, it has its origin in Sonkajarvi, Finland, and it’s basically a competition in which male competitors race through an obstacle course, with their wives on their back. If you are competing in the annual North American Wife Carrying Championship, and are the lucky winner, you receive the traditional prize, which is: your wife’s weight in beer, five times her weight in cash and finally an entry to the World Championship in Finland.

This is seriously the CRAZIEST sport I’ve EVER seen in my life. This seems like something that would take place in The Colosseum. This is a sport called ‘Calcio Storico’ where they play in Italy. It’s 50 minutes in a field, you have to make goals like Football/Soccer but use your hands and there aren’t ANY rules. LOL!!
