a cup in hand✮
one thing he most love about his job is when he knows he’s able to bring some warmth and calm to the customers through every simple cup of coffee he makes. sometimes his mother tells him he’s exaggerating, but he tells her if they weren’t doing something right, then none of their customers would be coming back. he would always get an amused chuckle from her, which he doesn’t mind. it just shows how much he enjoys doing what he does.
through the years, their humble cafe has managed to get enough regular customers to keep the business afloat, and as more time passes by, they got more regular customers. at this point, after years of working in the cafe himself, daeho has managed to find regular customers of his, too. he remembers their every order, how they like they coffee and the time they usually visit. he isn’t sure when it started, but somehow along the way, daeho has taken it upon himself to make some orders in advance. it saves time is his excuse when his mother gives him a questioning look which isn’t exactly a lie. they get a number of customers who are always in a hurry, especially during rush hours, so it only makes sense.
like clockwork, he makes one of the coffee he usually get from one of their regulars who seem to drop by at this certain hour. he makes it like how he remembers the order goes, and smiles when he hears the familiar chime of the bell at the entrance door. “welcome,” he greets when he turns around and gives them a dimpled smile. “your usual?”
