Origami angel/winged humanoid figure that I’m currently considering a title for, designed and folded by me. Folded from one uncut square of hanji paper, a little under 60 cm.
I’m honestly kinda proud of the shaping on this one right now. More stuff below:

I have been working on a spirally star design kusudama inspired by something like the five intersecting tetrahedra. This one turned out viable, I have been hesitant to share an earlier one that looks too much like an existing design by someone else (second picture) - but this is definitely different. You’re super welcome to try out the design, this is as far as I got today. The star “pits” are very deep and will probably get deeper when more of the ball forms.
Apollonian Network
April 2020
I was experimenting with origami and fractals and thought to draw a crease pattern superimposed on an Apollonian gasket, specifically the (−15, 32, 32, 33) packing displayed on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollonian_gasket, which I redrew in Inkscape. The axial creases form Apollonian networks. When folded, the design forms a 24-pointed star whose external flaps correspond to the circles contacting the outer circle. The internal circles are manifest in the internal flaps visible in the second image.
Have you spoken to your child about crease patterns?
Several attempts at some sort of “five intersecting tetrahedra”, and a few other kusudama tries. Some are inspired by Lukasheva’s paradigma, one by Frolov’s taygeta, some are based on my 3D research, and yet again others are me attempting to reverse engineer things I have seen. It’s a little hard to test a modular origami thing that’s 30 units, but feel free to try ‘em out, most of them are viable if you add in the missing flap creases.
