More details below:
New fold of origami Char Aznable. 104 cm uncut square of white/red double tissue for the color changes. (I think it was 104 cm according to my notes. Either way, it was a decently large paper.) Some shaping done with wire and stuffing. Finished model is 12 inches tall.
Although I botched the shaping in some parts I think it’s still my best fold of him, at least! I don’t usually shape origami with wire or cotton so that was new to me. This time around, I made sure to have the cape go over the shoulders.
Working on test folds to revise the face. The goal is for the next iteration to have a color changed laughing mouth (and less wrinkly folded forms). We’ll see if that ever happens…
Anyway copying my text from my r/origami post. Yeah.
Also can I include this shadowy origami photo and the unshaped base as a bonus?

Finished shaping the origami Char Aznable. Problem: I do not know how to display and take photos of this fold to showcase him yet. So yeah I checked my photos/notes from last month and the square of paper was apparently 104 cm before folding if I'm not mistaken on this one.
Origami artists LOVE the idea of a big piece of paper, until it's time to start preparing the paper, and then precreasing and collapsing the model. And lastly, finding a way to display and photograph the model. This origami is literally 12 inches tall and I do not currently have an appropriate display stand. Will try to update if I can get photos. Makeshift wire display method maybe?
(roughly 1/6 scale origami Char?? I guess. I need to fold other characters and also more dragons sometime)
Ok: In case you were wondering about the size of this fold,
EDIT; more photos here

WIP origami time. Hoping this one will work out alright also. Want to get that cape shaped so it's sorta...draped over the shoulders. That detail was missing in previous folds of Char, so yeah. Folding him.
WIP origami Quattro. Using a piece of a cotton ball to puff up the chest currently. Think I messed up the face shaping, but there's still more work to be done on the hair flaps at least.
WIP! Collapsed the base for the latest version of origami Quattro Bajeena. Now for the task of actually shaping the model...
Collapsing this base on and off.
Collapsed so far: sunglasses, forehead scar, hair, and face flaps
next: legs, and everything else
Updated origami dragon photos. The Plantcient Dragon designed by Brandon Wong, uncut square of 70ish cm double tissue, sparkly black with hot pink on the backside. (Modified into a dragon with fairy wings)
This dragon was a ton of fun to shape! Uncut square of black/pink double tissue of...I think around 70 cm? Need to get better photos later but Brandon Wong's Plantcient Dragon design is finished. Made it into a fairy dragon. Really enjoyed putting those "undesirable color changes" to use and turning it into something different but still in the spirit of the design. (I think.)
New photos
Guess who had an impulsive idea and had to test fold a color change mouth face and revise a mask to hopefully incorporate into a larger project.
The pink test fold looks cursed but I think there's potential.
But yeah, what if there was a color change mouth? What if he was laughing? And also the hair flaps were improved? What if the facial features had more of a sequence and it wasn't just a blank flap left to "idk let's fold it find out"? (...What if it's possible to also add details onto the backside this time too?)
The origami Char adventure continues.
WIP origami Plantcient "fairy" Dragon. Despite the warning about "undesirable color changes" and to not use duo paper by the designer I made it my goal to put the paper edge to use. It felt like too good of an opportunity to pass up??
Not sure if I'll compete or not or if it's even worth competing? Mostly wanted to just fold a cool 22.5 dragon. Going to be hard to get photos if I do finish in time and try to compete though. That black paper needs good lighting...also I'd want to show off that the belly is closed while still getting a good photo.
Update; some newer photos here
Realized this never got posted. Origami Quattro Bajeena/Zeta Char Aznable designed+(test)folded by me, uncut square of 60 cm. Red on one face and the light color on the other.
Key word "test folded". This was a practice run and there's a lot of issues in need of adjustment for a future iteration, mainly proportion stuff. I am happy with the shine on the sunglasses and scar color change though! Anyway since this fold is meant to be viewed from many angles here are the other angles, and the starting square:
The origami Char folding saga will continue when I'm up to it again.
Origami Quattro test fold; sneak peek before getting other photos figured out. Very flawed, but, still an improvement since last time! Will try to adjust some issues for the next version.
Origami Z'Gok designed by Katsuta Kyohei. Square of double tissue prepared out of tissue paper a holiday gift was wrapped in months ago. Saw the red paper then and immediately had a vision in mind.
Bonus with previous origami Char

I hope tumblr will enjoy these very serious and professional quality origami photos that were NOT taken on a now barely functioning 2013 nintendo 2ds in time for April Fool's day.
