@creasedcrown inquired ; headcanon + morality
a word or a phrase for a headcanon
okay, so we’re going to start right from the beginning of olivia’s existence, starting with the newly appointed jester phase! since olivia is basically “new” to life at this point, she’s like a child when it comes to learning about things which includes her own morality. it’s actually much more accurate to say that for a while, she didn’t have her own sense of morals. anything that her brother- well, anything that “his royal majesty” told her was as good as the truth to her as she had no reason to argue against it aside from asking questions. while she might have occasionally had her moments of “are you sure this is okay?”, it was never really thought too hard about at the time and blissfully ignored it.
however, when she was beginning to finally gain the capacity to think for herself as well as potentially gaining moments where she could do whatever she wanted without an audience watching her, it was then that olivia began to see that the things she was doing was... not right. one way or another, olivia could see that there were other ways of having fun and even different ways of laughing; suddenly finding discomfort in the laughters of those who chose to watch her performances. as much as she wanted to not think of her brother as such a person, it just made sense to her the more she thought about it, which she did often. it very likely had an effect on her performances too, making them better or worse depending on how people saw it.
it was this overthinking that had eventually led to her changing her colour scheme to be more yellow-oriented as well as confronting him. and we all know how well that confrontation went! but for things that she knows by instinct is wrong, she is very adamant about speaking her mind about it. but most of the time, if there’s a majority of people that think something is wrong, chances are likely she’ll believe that too unless there’s something off about that opinion that she discovers the more she thinks about it.
her own morals don’t really become her own until she truly thinks about it for herself, because she normally doesn’t have a reason to not believe someone’s word and morals.
Back and forth do eyes flick, bouncing between off of star maps and orrery models aplenty, each orbiting around a contemplating Rosalina. Yet between them all, only one concrete decision could assuredly come to light...
“There's nothing correct about that at all.”
Past references and current knowledge shed not a light's flicker onto the whole new planetoid sat there in the open. All she had gained was, well, a tongue’s puzzled click of the tongue. It was unmarked, it was without proper documentation... Did someone suppose they were going to be sneaking about with a planetoid below their belt? Eyebrows had been far passed raised, a demanded survey being worked on now. Far was the Comet Observatory settled, a skeptic's choice, before a Launch Star's grand pull and release let loose a turquoise comet sailing forward~.
Before contact, a shine of resplendent light gave way to a woman's looming form, stardust sprinkling from one hand while the other waved about a scanning Star Wand. It searched about for anything, really. Signs of life, a possible place of origin of the planetoid she walked upon. Anything that could give way to what she was certainly moments away from getting herself wrapped up in...

WHAT AN ODD thing to say to someone you’d just met, thought Athene to herself. But those don’t sound like the words of someone who understands who they’re talking to, or perhaps even what they’re speaking about.
The thin woman scanned him up and down before coming to the conclusion that there was no way they’d met before. She had a pretty decent memory despite being past her prime, and she certainly would have remembered a face like that. Someone who looked so dissatisfied with themselves and the world around them seemed to remind her of something -- her own self, at the darkest time in her life.
Ah, perhaps she was reading too far into it. Making her own narrative wouldn’t solve anything.
“ Well, if that’s what you think, you’re free to have that thought. “ The young woman blinked and raised a hand to inspect her well-kept nails. She wasn’t sure what to think of what he’d just said, but pretending she wasn’t bothered was likely the better reaction to have.
“ After all, it’s not a crime to be wrong. “
