would you look at that, i’m not dead yet! yes hello, it’s been.... what, about a week?? i’m not coming back just yet as i’m still getting used to my school schedule / fixing some issues with said schedule, but hopefully by next week i’ll be a lot more accustomed to what’s going on at school! that being said, i’m hoping to get back to writing on here over the weekend after finishing homework and finding out a rp group event!! in the meantime, i just remembered that my switch has online since i got it alongside ac;nh ages ago.... so i might play that on the weekend too. and origami king. gotta get started on that.

it’s been a short while... but we’re nearly at the homestretch of things now!! tomorrow (today for me, but shh it’s nearly 1am) is the induction day for my school, so hopefully i’ll be able to figure out what’ll be happening this year. i’m also hoping that i can get back onto this blog by the time school starts up full-time for me (next monday onward)

okay, so y’all thought i was never gonna talk about the olivia hammer? well, you were wrong! as much as i can appreciate the fact that canon just has olivia learning how to become a hammer as part of a technique, i feel that that’s a bit TOO convenient, you know? so i’m going to switch things up for my olivia. yes, she did learn the technique to use alongside the 1,000-fold arms, but it wasn’t specifically limited to just a hammer! olivia could’ve become anything she wanted to be used alongside it whether that be a sword, a baseball bat or even a frying pan if she so wanted! the only reason she couldn’t fold herself into these things prior to learning the technique is because she never realised that she could do that and even if she did know, she didn’t know how to do it without pushing more energy towards one thing instead of equally sharing it out. the technique in question was more about how she could equally share the energy so that none of them end up giving out halfway.

that being said, olivia got inspiration for the hammer form she folded herself into from none other than mario! one specific point where it became a lingering idea in her head for in case they had to use it was when she had been abruptly taken by... what, the shadow hand in bowser’s castle? do they even have a name? ( yes, yes they do apparently. the boss is apparently called handaconda. or just shadow hand. so i was partially right. ). it was also for this related reason that the magic circle ended up getting messed up by herself and not from olly’s interference; olivia had never folded herself into something without instructions before, and found herself placing more focus towards how to do so than actually making sure the magic circle forms okay.

You know. It just hit me, and is probably a little obvious in hindsight, but I realized they had that Scene with Bobby at the start of the Yellow Streamer to influence Olivia when she makes her own similar decision at the end of the game.

She took Bobby’s actions to heart and followed his example. T-T

but in all seriousness, it’s something that olivia is very optimistic about. we see it countless times throughout the game that despite everything that happens, she still tries to take the more peaceful route and only resorts to using a folding technique when there’s no other choice. while she may say that it’s her duty to stop her brother, she wouldn’t say that it’s out of obligation only. it’s also out of love and concern of what might happen to him and the world should he continue down that path.

but aside from her own experiences, olivia isn’t quite sure what a normal family should look like. outsiders would see the two siblings’ relationship as dysfunctional at best or something much worse than that. this is again because of olivia’s own naivety of the world and her heavily optimistic viewpoint of it. if anything, she’ll cling onto her family for as long as she can before letting them do something stupid or having them uh... die.

also does this mean that the legion of stationery is considered part of her family canonically since olly made them too? yeah, quite a messed up family she’s got if that’s also the case...

okay, so we’re going to start right from the beginning of olivia’s existence, starting with the newly appointed jester phase! since olivia is basically “new” to life at this point, she’s like a child when it comes to learning about things which includes her own morality. it’s actually much more accurate to say that for a while, she didn’t have her own sense of morals. anything that her brother- well, anything that “his royal majesty” told her was as good as the truth to her as she had no reason to argue against it aside from asking questions. while she might have occasionally had her moments of “are you sure this is okay?”, it was never really thought too hard about at the time and blissfully ignored it.

however, when she was beginning to finally gain the capacity to think for herself as well as potentially gaining moments where she could do whatever she wanted without an audience watching her, it was then that olivia began to see that the things she was doing was... not right. one way or another, olivia could see that there were other ways of having fun and even different ways of laughing; suddenly finding discomfort in the laughters of those who chose to watch her performances. as much as she wanted to not think of her brother as such a person, it just made sense to her the more she thought about it, which she did often. it very likely had an effect on her performances too, making them better or worse depending on how people saw it.

it was this overthinking that had eventually led to her changing her colour scheme to be more yellow-oriented as well as confronting him. and we all know how well that confrontation went! but for things that she knows by instinct is wrong, she is very adamant about speaking her mind about it. but most of the time, if there’s a majority of people that think something is wrong, chances are likely she’ll believe that too unless there’s something off about that opinion that she discovers the more she thinks about it.

her own morals don’t really become her own until she truly thinks about it for herself, because she normally doesn’t have a reason to not believe someone’s word and morals.

my first headcanon and it’s gonna be one that truly matters. olivia’s hugs could be attacks all on their own. i like to think of her running at people in a hugging stance whenever she has to push them out of the way of something because she genuinely doesn’t want to hurt them anymore than she should... even if she ends up knocking both them and herself a good distance away. aside from the obvious strength behind them, she also ends up moving quite quickly. hardly anyone is able to avoid her attack / hug when she’s on the move, and might have a hard time getting out of it too. in some ways, this could even be used as a hold while someone else attacks! the attacks would make it easier for the person in question to slip out of olivia’s hands, however.

so basically... don’t let this girl run at you if you don’t like strong hugs. because while she definitely could give softer hugs, it’s not really something she thinks about in the moment.
