These days I have been working on a picture book that reflects on the question Who are you? The drawings revisit the canyons behind my childhood home. It has been deeply satisfying immersing myself in that innocent world of childhood and seems to heal the anxiety of my doom scrolling. What are you creating these days?

CHEATING HISTORY - funded!

Nunzio here. Christina and I both teach, but I also am Chair of multiple departments and a Dean at our school. Finding the time to write is not as easy as I'd want.

To be honest, when Dragon Age: Dark Fortress ended, I worried how often I would write again. Finding people to hire you to write is sometimes a job unto itself, and I had so many.

But we teach our students to create their own work. So we decided to do the same.

Christina and I teamed up with Jenny Sterner to create a pilot for a Podcast called CHEATING HISTORY. And we assembled an amazing team, and created a pilot.

And then we put it out in the world and asked for funding to make an entire season. In this economy, we knew it was a lot to ask.

But we got the support, and Season One is going to happen!

Those stretch goals include artwork by Emma Vieceli, and Fernando Heinz Furukawa, both of whom we'd be thrilled to work with again.

But whatever happens, we are going to make a full season of this podcast.

No idea how I'm gonna fit it into the teaching/chairing/deaning schedule. But that's just logistics.

Truly I believe that if you can't draw or write for shit but you wanna experience your OC for a little bit, you should make a music playlist inspired by them, and a Pinterest board. I was wagging my foot like a dog wags it's tail making that board.

Making a music playlist is so fun. If you need further help, maybe make a playlist of music that character enjoys, or music from their culture, maybe just songs that remind you of their personality or story, or songs you could so clearly envision them in. Make them come alive.

If you can't draw or write, it absolutely doesn't mean you can't create. There are so many different ways to create. Hell, if you really wanna see a visualization of your character outside of a Pinterest board, use some app like Gacha Life or Picrew.

And unfortunately I have to add I DO NOT support using AI just because you can't/don't feel like doing this stuff. I don't respect you if you think using AI puts you on the level of any real artist in any profession.

Anywho experience your OC or story in other ways there is so many thing there to help you, stay safe, create!

(tip, some artist friends of yours might get really excited about your OC and wanna draw/write them if they find them cool, so share your creativity! If not for that, than for the fun!)
