AND they’re taking care of the community by doing some kind of online presentation of the art! We are so lucky to have this center on our little island. Pisces Moon. Monoprint using a relief block and a Gelli Plate, both hand printing techniques. I’ve been going through the drawers in the studio, emptying out years of work that I’ll be selling at the flea markets this summer. Some of it is a week old and some of it is 30 years old and then there’s everything in between. It looks like I’ll be moving house and studio pretty soon. Big changes. So glad that I make pictures and play my piano and write and go to the theater and meditate and work and live on Martha’s Vineyard. I am a lucky woman and the beauty in life gets me through the ups and downs. Most of all, it’s the friends, the community, the family, the people....the love, the creativity.....such joy. Keeping it in the day. I feel curious and inspired to see what might happen next. My sorrow and my joy might become a song on the piano, or a poem or picture. And then I can share it. Creativity connects me to my feelings and to other people. Susanna has been coming to the Featherstone Make Art Workshops to make unique postcards. She uses them in the campaign to get out the vote. Last weekend we added some Gelli Plate backgrounds to the letters. I’d say “going great guns!” but what does that mean anyway? Guns??? Anyway, I love being a part of her process.
