Bedtime Stories for the Unconscious: Chapter 22 - Time and music seemed to slow down as memories collided in his mind. Suddenly, the man with the filthy hat opened his eyes. Where was he? He felt so unrested. As his exhausted eyes began to focus he saw a woman with a gun and a pack of sandwiches and nothing coming towards him and say “Why be kind to others if you don’t get anything back in return, what do you get out of it?” The man with the filthy hat slowly answered. “The reason is obvious. The benefit of kindness is that you make others feel good. And in making others feel good you just may inspire them to be kind to others. It’s the ripple effect. Kindness is a choice. Every single moment of your life you have a choice to choose to act with kindness. And it doesn’t cost any money. You can be kind anytime and anywhere. The purpose of kindness isn’t to benefit from it other than the fact that kind people are happier people and it makes all people happier. It simply just works that way. Kindness is contagious. It’s the most sanitary virus you can spread to anyone! So spread your kindness and make a difference. Because after all that is all we want to do isn’t it?” The self-regarding matron shot back “No way!” and ignored his answer and walked away in the same direction she came. The man smiled and then hollered “I was just trying to be kind!” as he watched the woman saunter obliviously away and slip in the mud. - THE END #bekind #rippleeffect #consciouskindness #kindnessiscontagious #createyourrippleeffect #kindnessisachoice #kindnessisfree #radiohead #dontfallinthemud
