Ok guys listen up! Sensei* ShadowTajun here. 

I want to go over creating a folder structure for projects. It’s super important and super helpful when you get it right, and super chaotic without it. I used to leave about a day for folder structure and do it the only way I knew how - one damn folder at a time. It was so tedious and boring, all this time and I could have been working on my project that I really wanted to get into. 

Well, I've found a program New Folder Wizard which is pretty fekking awesome. 

Take a look at the screenshot above. This is an actual screenshot of my current folder structure for my Taj Packs. I managed to get 1752 folders done in about an hour (cause I had a lot of lines to write) but if I had made them the old way, it would have taken me about 14 and a half hours to get the same setup. I am fekking excited!

So what I did was write down the folders I wanted in a txt file and saved the .txt file. (I have a list of packs and items in those packs via excel that I just copy and then pasted. I sorted out what order they should be in, gave them my preferred naming conventions and gave them numbers because I know it all gets sorted alphabetically in Windows

My favourite thing about this program is that you can use “Tab” to create subfolders. So it goes:

MainFolder <tab>Subfolder <tab><tab>Subfolder_of_Subfolder <tab><tab><tab>Sub_Sub_Subfolder <tab>Subfolder2 <tab><tab>Subfolder_of_Subfolder2

etc..  

Then when I saved the txt file, I opened up the program. Chose the folder I wanted to get affected and then chose the .txt file for the folders I wanted to get created. I clicked create and there you have it - FOLDERS! FOLDERS FOR EVERYTHING!

I’m only writing this because it’s something that had never occurred to me until yesterday and I wish I’d have known this a long time ago. So please share it around, and let’s get organised!
