This month's #CreatingWithCrash fan art challenge subject is THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN! @UniversalMonsters The Bride of Frankenstein is a 1935 horror film, and the first sequel to Universal Pictures' 1931 film Frankenstein. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest sequels in cinematic history, (seriously, it's up there with Godfather Part II and The Empire Strikes Back) with many fans and critics considering it to be an improvement on the original Frankenstein. As with the first film, Bride of Frankenstein was directed by James Whale and stars Boris Karloff as the Monster. The sequel features Elsa Lanchester in the dual role of Mary Shelley and the titular character at the end of the film. Colin Clive (two years away from his untimely death due to severe chronic alcoholism) reprises his role as Henry Frankenstein, and Ernest Thesiger plays the role of Doctor Septimus Pretorius. That’s just something worth seeing. I always wondered why the Bride didn’t show up in the sequels. All the other monsters kept coming back. #creatingwithcrash #frankenstein #clipstudiopaint #art #monster #horror #elsalanchester #universalmonsters #love #spooky #brideoffrankenstein #losangeles #clipstudiopro #officialuniversalmonsters #frankensteinsmonster #scary #universalstudios #artistsoninstagram #painting #maryshelley #boriskarloff #family #monsters #colinclive #artist #officialuniversal #shawnvanbriesen (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEfjzzGALol/?igshid=167vhs0hahnsl
