Signing anecdotes under the cut.

Jake Abel

I love Jake a lot and I don’t really remember anything about him signing this because it was almost a month ago, but he probably laughed at it. Most people laugh at the blanket. Also he wrote my name in teeny tiny handwriting which is precious.

Alexander Calvert

Alex is so cute and wrote 'sweet dreams' and I’m pretty sure he asked me something inappropriate about the blanket but I’m not 100% sure what anyway I love him so much and his autograph is so cute.

Rob Benedict

Genuinely don’t remember Rob signing this but uhhh apparently he did!! I love Rob but I think I forgot everything that happened with him pre-hugging him and that was on the final day, so. Whatever, he wrote my name and drew a heart so that’s what matters.

DJ Qualls

DJ was actually one of the first people to ever sign this blanket, way back at Asylum 13 (my first con), where he signed the bit above Jensen/Dean’s crotch that says ‘DJ Qualls was here (not really)’. So at this con I went up to his table and said "I don't know if you remember, but you signed this four years ago" and DJ replied "I do remember! I used to have this photo on a clock”. Basically DJ Qualls is all of us and I love him so much.

Julian Ritchings

Julian was a sweetheart and he was kind of shocked by the blanket and sweet and shy about it (I mean he is an old man so I’m not massively surprised) and I love him a lot. Fun fact there’s actually a line of silver Sharpie that you can just about make out in the shadow of Jensen/Dean’s knee, where Julian first tried to sign. That clearly didn’t work. And then when he was finally signing somewhere that it was visible he said "I want to try and write as neatly as possible" HE’S JUST A SWEET ANGEL OKAY.

Keith Szarabajka

The first thing Keith said to me when I put the blanket on his auto table was “I'm not signing this! It's like something out of a gay porno!” He then proceeded to sign it for longer than literally anyone ever has. His pen was running out and the blanket is difficult to write on, but he still decided to write my name, ‘thanks’, then his full name (which is fucking ridic long) AND THEN ALSO “donatello”. Keith, you’re killing me, man.

This is my last op of this con. :( I’d never met Rob before and I did not expect to fall in love with him as quickly as I did. I would legitimately marry this man he is an ANGEL.

I was the second person in line for Rob ops, so it happened so fast, but I asked “Big hug big smiles?” bc I wanted him to toothy-smile, and he STUCK HIS LITTLE TONGUE OUT A BIT WTF HE’S SO CUTE. And then after the photo was taken I said “Thank you,” and he replied “Thank YOU” with his hand resting on my side, staring straight into my soul. I can’t deal with this man he holds the most intense and amazing eye contact of anyone I’ve ever met.

And during the autograph he did the “Thank YOU” thing again and held INSANE EYE CONTACT and I just can’t I CANNOT.

Jared is the biggest sweetheart in the entire world and I love him to the moon and back a million times.

I had a plan for this op, a plan which did not happen. In my first ever Jared op, back in 2015, he picked me up. I actually wanted a wedding lift, but it was my second con and I was anxious enough as it was and I wasn’t going to argue over how I was picked up. Since then they’ve significantly tightened rules on picking people up in ops, but I thought I’d try again anyway.

When I walked in I said “I know you’re not supposed to, but would you pick me up?” and he said “I’m not allowed” and he looked really sad about it (like he totally would have if Creation would let him) and so I quickly told him my backup pose, which was this. After the photo was taken he told me he loved my hair.

I’ll probably never get my wedding lift op, but at least I tried.

Also during autographs Jared was really quiet and he mumbled something, and I was like “Sorry?”, and he said “Oh i was just- it's a cool picture, it made me laugh" what a BEAN. Then he winked at me. I hate this man.

I LOVE BRIANA SO MUCH OH MY GOD.

I wasn’t even going to get an op with her this con but I caved on the Saturday and I’m so glad I did. When I went up for the op she said “Hi, honey!” and smiled so big at me (like she recognised me) and then after the photo she said “Good to see you!” and squeezed my shoulder as I left. And I was like holy shit does Briana recognise me?

So obviously I had to get an autograph (they cost extra, but I had to). And as I put my op on the table, she said, and I quote, “Danii, we've met a million times, haven't we?” I fucking died. Also she usually abbreviates her autos (she’ll write ‘tnx’ instead of ‘thanks’), but she fully wrote out mine and fucked up twice and said “fuck me” both times gODDAMN I LOVE HER.

This is my favourite photo op of this con, by far. I love Alex so so so much and this was only his third con and his first time ever in the UK and he’s just a precious angel bean and I want to hug him forever.

If you’ve seen any other ops from this con, you’ll probably notice that Alex spends the entire day wearing a baseball cap. I... didn’t want that in my op, so I asked him to take it off. His girlfriend (I think) came and smoothed down his hat-hair before the photo was taken and it was so cute. Also he’s holding the hat in his hand, which is why he isn’t hugging back.

When I have ops with someone I’ve already met, I tend to go for different poses because I don’t just want a million hug ops. This is my third Matt op. This is my third Matt hug.

There are two reasons for this. 1. Matt is just so huggable. 2. I hate my second Matt op with a passion so this was somewhat of a redo of that one.

This photo was taken on the Friday and I actually tried to get an op (which would have been a pose) on the Saturday after his Saturday panel as well (he was wearing burgundy and I briefly turned straight), but they’d sold out. Apparently the burgundy had the same effect on everyone else.

God, this con feels like such a long time ago, but it was only at the start of this month. I’d never met Jake before, and had no intention of getting an op with him, but as we all know I have very little impulse control. He was the second panel on the Friday of con, and before his panel was even over I’d decided I needed to hug him. He was so funny and sweet and I love this op a lot I’m glad I did it.
