Well, Malia showing concern towards other living members of the pack is good, and non-violent towards others who are not powerful and forceful is progress. Even if she has to mimic every inch of that, she's learning how to care for others. For someone who had to live as a loner for 8 years, she's doing much better than some.
And she's not asking to be turned back into a werecoyote. She might still, but right now she's productive in the series. Until maybe this next episode. . . we'll see I guess.
