To begin this creative process we began a group discussion. In this discussion we brain stormed ideas for what we wanted our film to be about, the genre, the general storyline and things such as location, costume etc.
Whilst doing this I created a mind map to better organise our ideas and send them to our group chat for further reference.
Week 10 ~ creative collaborations

This week in creative collaborations we started off the lesson again with us talking about our blogs and show one another ours and getting feed back form the class! That went on for about 20 mins and then we got into our groups.
My group are up to our second week of filming so we packed up our stuff and went straight out to film! We called up a the (Cambridge hotel) as we are filming a part of our film where our character gets his drink spiked in a club/bar, there was no answer so when went there anyway.....that was bad idea as it was not open and nobody came to door even when knocked a thousand times, but it didn’t matter because there was a lovely fellow selling coffee out of his van in the car park and we ended up having a little coffee group date (very good coffee)👍
Next we went to another bar, this time it was open thank goodness cuz we driving all around the bloody herty gert trying to find somewhere to film. We needed up settling in at the (great northern) hotel to film at it wasn’t exactly the type of scenery we wanted but it was still good enough to fit our story line. This scene is the one where the main character get his drink spiked and he fall unconscious. We got a very handsome young chap that was behind the bar to feature and help film our movie, he was very good at featuring not so good at filming but that ok he tired his best! But He did also let us use the actual bar in our film which was really cool! (Me being filmed)👇
We have now almost fully finished filming our short film! We have a few more scene to go and they are the ones that are compulsory to have in the film e.g. town hall bell, light rail, an animal. We will be shooting these ones next week!
Week 9 ~ Creative collaborations

In creative collaborations this week we started off the lessons again with sowing one another our weekly blogs, we all had a bit of show and tell and that sessions ended with us getting into our groups.Once in our groups we show each other what our ideas were throughout the week just gone. Matt showed us is story board he drew it was amazing! And flow showed us some of the planning she did, very organised I must say!
We then got our risk assessment approved by Sally to started our filming!Our group drove to the beach and filmed one of our underwater scenes! At the Newcastle baths. I am the actor in our film so I had to get into the water 🥶.I flopped sidewards into the water for our first shot and then the second shot I swam under the water with my eyes open towards the camera (bit stingy for the old eyes) it was a very fun experience filming underwater even though I looked bloody stupid.
I feel as though we could have taken a few more shots just In case the ones we used weren’t good, but it was a bit tricky because once I was wet I couldn’t look fully dry to film again, and the water was really ☃️freezingg❄️ so I didn’t want to stay in there very long.
Next week we are filming the rest of our movie in a pub! So looking forward to some more awkward acting in public! :D
Week 8 ~ Creative Collaborations

In Collaborative Creations this week we began the class with a few people showing how their first blog experience was, how they developed it, what platform they used and if they found it difficalt, most people used the website “blogger” so there were only a few others that decided to use Tumbler, and personally I recon all the number ones looked the best ;).
After these few people shared their blogs we began got into our little groups to begin doing our big brain storing sessions again. Me and my team came up with a solid plan and idea fort our short film.. here is a little pitch of our idea..(a young guy is at a party and puts he’s cup down, someone puts an unknown substance into his drink while he is not watching, the camera follow him picking up the cup and taking a drink out of it. He then sits down with his friends and lays back, he closes his eyes for a second and opens them again next thing you know he is beginning a Psychedelic trip that was not his own doing.) we decided that we would raise awareness to the dangers of drink spiking in now days.
We then decided we would go out in our brain storming time and scout some places around campus that we could possibly film our movie at. We ended up finding a lady who was a professor, she was super cool! She opened up a place called the “theatre” and we had a little tour in there and decided that this venue would be a place we will film.

Week 7 ~ Creative Collaborations

Week 7 in collaborative creations we were put into small groups for the 2 minute film assignment coming up in the next few weeks. Sally (my Lecturer) let our class independently muster ourselves into categories depending on what our strengths and weaknesess were. That some what gave us freedom to choose what we wanted to do.
Sally had set it up so there were 4 catergories at each end of the room we could stand in. Naturally we choose the category that best suited our talents, there was... The "directors" category, "sounds production" category a "visual/ arts director" and an "editing manager" catergory. Clearly I choose the sounds/audio production, as I am studying music at university and I thought it would only be fitting!
After we all got into our categories Sally asked everyone to pitch to the directors category why we would be good in there group doing what task we assigned ourselves to. Eventual everyone had a pitch and people were being put into the groups that best suited them. It was my turn and i announced that I could play piano, guitar and sing so I could write the music for my future groups 2 minute film. Coincidentally I was lucky last to pitch so I ended up in the group i had my eye on anyway and its a great group!
My group ended up having 4 people, Flow, Hannah, Matt and myself we all got along really well and had a good meet and greet. After introducing ourselves we started brain storming ideas for our film. We all ended up being keen on the idea of including underwater shots in our film (e.g.👆). One of the girls from our group are going to be our under water model scene for these senes. We also liked the idea of add a montage somewhere in the film as a representation of memory flash back or forward.(e.g 👇.
For now most of our idea are not set in stone we still have a fair bit of brainstorming to do! we made a group chat on Instagram and we are throwing ideas back and forth for our 2 minute film and we will elaborate on these ideas in clsss next week.
