New lens!

I bought a new lens today, a fixed 50mm f/1.8, I'm pretty proud of myself. I did all my homework to figure out the best deal for my money. Some people don't like fixed lenses,but I love the fixed 50mm, aka, the "nifty fifty" It gives a super wonderful depth of field perspective, and although the f stop isn't a 1.2 or anything like that, It still takes wonderful pictures, and the price difference is staggering. I bought mine for $130, what a steal! I didn't think I could get any decent lens for that price...

The price for one that had f/1.4 was 239$, pretty big difference. I saved up enough for my little 1.8...it's so adorable. I couldn't tell you the difference between the two honestly. You would have to ask someone more pro than me.

Buuut. I still love the results. It's totally worth the 130 I spent on it.

I have a Nikon d40 camera body, so it doesn't allow auto focus with the lens, which is kind of annoying, like here:

the colors are great, but the bluuur!!!

(This is at a pretty sweet Greek restaurant by the way. :D)

but the detail when you get it right is UNREAL. (drools)
