Creative Concept Design: Marketing an Object Abroad
For my Creative Concept Design project, I was challenged to take an object connected to the country I’m studying and explore how it could be marketed here in the Netherlands. The assignment was not just about the product itself, but about researching cultural differences, consumer behavior, and how design choices can influence marketing strategies.
I wrote a detailed plan and then translated those ideas visually into a poster design. The focus was on adapting the object’s story and appeal for a Dutch audience, making it both understandable and attractive while staying true to its cultural background.
⚠️ Important Disclaimer I do not own the rights to this product. This object was only used as an example for my school project. The purpose of this work is purely educational, not commercial.
The creative process was both challenging and fun: learning how to take something deeply rooted in another culture and reinterpret it for a Dutch market without losing its authenticity. I discovered how small design choices (colours, fonts, language style) can completely change how a product is perceived by a new audience.
This project gave me valuable insights into international marketing and intercultural communication, and it was a great way to combine research with creativity.
